Illinois Road Race State Championship - Boone County Road Race

Road Racing is back! We have established a 21.5 mile loop just East of Belvidere that will crown the 2026 State Champions.  A crown that has not been awarded in almost a decade.  Bringing the road race back, we also are bringing back true road racing distances.  Join us as we work to resurrect road racing in the midwest. 

The current schedule will be as follows:
9:00am - M CAT1/2 - 92 miles (4 laps)
9:07am - M CAT 3 - 70 miles (3 laps)
9:14am - M Masters - 70 miles (3 laps)
9:21am - M CAT 4/5 - 49 miles (2 laps)
9:28am - W CAT 1/2/3 - 70 miles (3 laps)
9:35am - W Masters & CAT4/5 - 49 miles (2 laps)
Start times & distances are subject to change based on number of registrants.  Fields may be split up or combined based on attendance

Male & Female Champions will be crowned in the following categories:
Cat 1
Cat 2
Cat 3
Masters 40+
Masters 50+
Masters 60+

USA Cycling & Illinois Cycling Eligibility Regulations
1) There must be at least 5 riders in the classification.*
2) To be eligible for a State Championship jersey or medal, a rider must hold a current USA Cycling annual license and reside in Illinois as shown on the rider’s drivers license
3) State Championships are open to US Citizens and permanent residents (green card) with a USA Cycling annual license.

Please consider purchasing registration insurance for the event.  This is the only path to receive a refund or deferral.

*- in the case of a lack of riders in:
Masters 60+ then Masters 60+ will combine with Masters 50+
Masters 50+ then Masters 50+ will combine with Masters 40+
Masters 40+ then Masters 40+ riders will ride in the category specified on their USAC license
CAT3 then CAT3 will combine with CAT2
CAT2 then CAT2 will combine with CAT1
CAT1 then there will be no CAT1 2026 State Champion
