Iron Eagle Paddle & Run
About this race
For the 14th year, our Iron Eagle Paddle & Run fundraiser is set for Saturday, August 8,2026 at Eagle Creek Park! This adventure race is motivated by our desire to raise funds for the betterment of Eagle Creek Park (100% of proceeds benefit Eagle Creek Park!). The race is open to all ages. Solo and 2 or 3-person teams are all welcome! 3-person teams are not eligible for prizes
Please join us for a trail run through one of the nation's largest city parks while catching a glimpse of the park's wonderful scenery. Competitors have the option to bring their own kayak, canoe, or stand-up paddle board, or rent a boat in advance through Eagle Creek Outfitters. All participants bringing their own water craft are required to bring a PFD (personal flotation device), otherwise known as a life jacket.
The race includes the following segments:
- 2.6 mile trail run - from the beach to the marina
- 1.5 mile paddle
- 2.6 mile trail run back to the beach area
The course is set up similar to a triathlon with a transition area where you can stage your gear for each leg.

Eagle Creek Outfitters & Adventure Outpost will donate $10 of each boat rental to the Eagle Creek Park Foundation.

***Dogs are not allowed this year. We love them, but the trails are not wide enough.
Check in / boat drop off will take place at the Marina between 6:30am and 7:30am
The race will begin at the beach area at 8:00 am.

Trail Run - 2.6 mi Paddle - 1.5 mi Trail Run - 2.6 mi The first place male and first place female will receive awards.
2-Person Team (price per person)
In the 2-Person Team, both participants complete the entire course together. Both can be in the same boat, or in separate boats. The first place team will receive an award. • Both participants run and paddle • Teams are welcome to use 2 single boats or a double boat • Participants need to stay within 50 feet of each other • Boat(s) must stay in boat transition area until both runners have arrived. • Finish time and place is based on when the last runner crosses finish line Trail Run - 2.6 mi Paddle - 1.5 mi Trail Run - 2.6 mi
2-Person Team Relay (price per person)
In the 2-Person Relay, you divide up the stages of the race between the two participants. The first place relay team will receive an award. • One person runs both legs, other person does the paddle portion • 3-person relay teams are welcome, but will not be eligible for the awards • The paddle person and boat needs to stay in the boat transition area until the runner arrives Trail Run - 2.6 mi Paddle - 1.5 mi Trail Run - 2.6 mi
