About this race
Welcome to the first ever IronPooch event, hosted by Bolton Valley Resort in Vermont on October 3, 2026!
IronPooch hosts trail races, canicross races, and obstacle course races for dog-owners to run (or walk!) with their best friends. Our events bring together amateurs, experienced athletes, nonprofit animal organizations, local vendors, and their dogs for an inclusive, family-friendly event. Come for the racecourses or for the food, music, and dog events at race & vendor village.
Designed for amateurs and athletes of all ages and abilities.
***In case of inclement weather, the rain date is the following day, Sunday, October 4, and participants will be notified by the evening of Friday, October 2.

Trail running
Long Course (5-6 mi); Trail, Canicross & Obstacle Race
The 10K is the longer of our two courses, with both races sharing the same start and finish area. The course is approximately 5–6 miles and features a mix of grassy ski trails, single-track trails and dirt/gravel utility roads, with a moderate elevation profile and possible light obstacles. A water and aid station will be positioned approximately halfway through the course for runners and their dogs. Human and canine medical staff will be on course for safety.
Obstacle race
Short Course (2-3mi); Trail, Canicross & Obstacle Race
The 5K is the shorter of our two courses, covering approximately 2–3 miles over moderate terrain. It is designed to be approachable for runners, hikers and walkers of a range of ages and abilities—dogs and humans alike. The course includes grassy ski trails, single-track trails, dirt/gravel utility roads and mild obstacles. Human and canine medical staff will be on course for safety.
Running
Non-Racing Participants & Attendees
Not racing? There's still plenty to do. We've got lots of fun for non-racers as well! Our race village features lots of local sponsors and vendors who offer free schwag and discounted gear to attendees. These sponsors and vendors are usually local canine-focused businesses such as pet stores, dog gear retailers, pet grooming shops, doggy daycare/boarding facilities, and more.
