KC Metro Mile Championship
About this race
Join us for a fun night on the track at the 2026 Kansas City Metro Mile Championships presented by KC Running Company, Mizuno, and B and B Race KC. The KC Metro Mile Championships will pit top talent from the area against each other in one of the best competitions of the year!
The Kids Miles and new Community Mile are non-qualifier events and open to everyone. The qualifier events have a limited number of entries available, this year we will separate out all entries in the qualifier events to create the best races possible, no race will have more than 24 entries. Our goal is to have multiple divisions for High School Athletes. Entrants must submit a recent time during registration in order to qualify for those races. All times submitted will be verified. If your qualifying time does not make the final cut for your race, you will be refunded your entry fees.
800M Showcase athletes must apply be submitting times to stevenb@kcrunningcompany.com
For the Elite Male and Elite Female miles, the top 20 submitted times will be eligible to compete.

Kids Mile Boys & Girls (K - 8th Grade)
This event is open to all kids k-8th grade
Middle School Girls Elite Mile (Must have a qualifying time of 7 minutes or under)
This event is a qualifying event and participants must have a recent mile time of 7 minutes or under to participate. You must submit your recent time during registration and times will be verified. Registration is limited to 40.
Middle School Boys Elite Mile (Must have a qualifying time of 5:45 or under)
This event is a qualifying event and participants must have a recent mile time of 5 minutes and 45 seconds or under to participate. You must submit your recent time during registration and times will be verified. Registration is limited to 40.
High School Girls Elite Mile (Must have a qualifying time of 5:59 or under)
This event is a qualifying event and participants must have a recent mile time of 5 minutes and 59 seconds or under to participate. You must submit your recent time during registration and times will be verified.
High School Boys Elite Mile (Must have a qualifying time of 4:59 or under)
This event is a qualifying event and participants must have a recent mile time of 4 minutes and 59 seconds or under to participate. You must submit your recent time during registration and times will be verified. Registration is limited to 40.
Womens Open & Masters Mile (Under 7 minutes to qualify)
This event is open to Women with mile qualifying times of 7 minutes or under or a 5k time under 23 minutes.
Men's Open Mile (Under 4:55 minutes to qualify)
This event is open to Men with mile qualifying times of 4 minutes and 55 seconds or under or a 5k time under 17 minutes and 20 seconds.
Men's Masters Mile 35+ Age (Under 5:45 to quailfy)
This event is open to Men with mile qualifying times of 5 minutes and 45 seconds or under or a 5k time under 19 minutes.
Elite Men's Mile (Under 4:20 to qualify)
This event is open to Men with mile qualifying times of 4 minutes and 20 seconds or under or a 5k time under 15 minutes and 20 seconds.
Elite Women's Mile (Under 5:30 to qualify)
This event is open to Women with mile qualifying times of 5 minutes and 30 seconds or under or a 5k time under 19 minutes and 30 seconds.
Community Mile
New this year, this event is open to anyone. Runners must be able to complete the mile in 12 minutes to keep us on schedule.
