About this race

Mardi Gras meets Backyard Ultra. 💜💚💛

A 36-hour Mardi Gras endurance challenge at Eightfold Farms in Benton, Louisiana.

But here’s the best part - you don’t have to be an ultra runner to join the Krewe.

Maybe this is your first 5K. Maybe you’re ready to tackle a 10K. Maybe you’ve always wanted to run your first half marathon, marathon, or ULTRA. Or maybe you just want to find out how far you can really go.

This race is YOUR challenge.

Complete a 3.2-mile loop every hour, on the hour, for as long as you choose to keep going.

Run one loop. Run two. Hit a new distance. Chase a huge goal. Stay all 36 hours.

There’s no “right” distance - just YOUR distance.

Come challenge yourself. Come surprise yourself. And come see just how many loops you’ve got in you. 💜💚💛

Every hour. On the hour. Until YOU decide you’re done.

Krewe De Loops 36

THE CHALLENGE Krewe de Loops 36 is a 36-hour, backyard-style endurance challenge where the goal is simple: 3.2 miles. Every hour. On the hour. Keep answering the horn. When the horn sounds, the Krewe takes off together for a 3.2-mile loop. Finish the loop, recover, refuel, change shoes, grab some food, question your life choices 😜 - whatever you need to do. But when that next horn sounds… You better be back in the starting corral. Then you do it all over again. And again. And again. For up to 36 HOURS. ⚜️ HOW IT WORKS To stay in the challenge, runners must: • Complete the 3.2-mile loop before the next hour begins • Be inside the starting corral when the next horn sounds • Begin each loop with the remaining Krewe • Check out with race officials when you decide your journey is complete Miss the cutoff or fail to answer the next horn, and your race is officially over. But every single loop you complete counts. There is no minimum distance you have to reach to make this race a success. Run it. Walk it. Run/walk it. At 3.2 miles per hour, you only need to average approximately an 18:45-per-mile pace to complete each loop within the hour. 🏁 HOW FAR WILL YOUR KREWE TAKE YOU? 1 loop — 3.2 miles — Your 5 2 loops — 6.4 miles — Your 10K 6 loops — 19.2 miles 9 loops — 28.8 miles — Marathon conquered + some 12 loops — 38.4 miles 18 loops — 57.6 miles 24 loops — 76.8 miles 30 loops — 96 miles 36 loops — 115.2 MILES Maybe you’re coming to complete your first 5K. Maybe you’re chasing your first 10K, marathon or ultramarathon. Maybe you’re an experienced ultra runner wondering just how deep you’re willing to go. This race is for ALL of you. You don’t have to be the fastest. You don’t have to make it 36 hours. You just have to show up, challenge yourself and keep answering the horn for as long as you’ve got another loop in you. ⚜️ Mardi Gras meets Backyard Ultra.
