About this race
Join us for the exhilarating Lakewood Run “Powered By Heart, Fueled By Community” 5K Walk/Run, 5K Ruck, and 10K Run! The Lakewood Run returns on Saturday, March 7, 2026! This event is a celebration of physical fitness, community spirit, and personal determination. Whether you are a seasoned runner, a passionate walker, or a dedicated rucker, there’s something for everyone in this inclusive event.
There will be delicious food, refreshments, live music, and race results, including a medal ceremony. Also, stick around and visit all our amazing vendors for a chance to participate in an opportunity drawing with great prizes! The Lakewood Run brings together runners, walkers, ruckers, and neighbors for a morning that’s more than just miles—it’s about heart.
The Lakewood Run is presented by the Lakewood Sheriff’s Station and Soroptimist Int’l of Lakewood/Long Beach. Proceeds from the race benefit both charity organizations.

5k Walk/Run
Kick off your journey with our friendly 5K Walk/Run. This course is designed for all ages and fitness levels, making it the perfect opportunity to get active in a supportive environment. Experience the excitement of crossing the finish line while surrounded by your friends, family, and fellow participants who share the same passion for health and community.
10K Run Only
For those looking for a greater challenge, our 10K Run will push your limits and ignite your passion for running. This course will take you through beautiful landscapes, providing a perfect backdrop to showcase your dedication and heart. Chase your personal records while being fueled by the energy and encouragement of the local community cheering you on. Course opens back up to traffic at 10am. If you are not finished it is recommended you move to the sidewalks

Walking
5K Ruck
Participants will carry a weighted backpack (ruck) while navigating the scenic course, combining the benefits of strength training and endurance. This is a great way to test your limits and embrace the camaraderie among fellow ruckers. Don’t forget to pack your heart along with your gear, as we march together to the finish line! Participants choose your own pack and weight and join the team out on the 5k route.
