About this race
The Legendary Lights 5K - 10K - Kids Run is back for its second year and is a great way to get into the Christmas spirit. And for 2026 we have added a new 10K race!
The Historic Clifton Mill displays over 4 million lights illuminating the mill, the gorge, the riverbanks, trees and bridges. The courses begin at the Clifton Shelter House and heads north on Clay Street out into the countryside on Tanyard Road, turning around and finishing back at the Shelter House. Enjoy hot chocolate, donuts, and a surprise Christmas gift! You may see some of your favorite Christmastime friends back again this year.
Your race registration includes admission into the nightly, award-winning, Legendary Lights Show and Christmas Village any evening during the 2026 season!
New this year: after registering for a race and upon request, you will be emailed a ticket into the Legendary Lights. The Lights begin the day after Thanksgiving, so you can attend before race day if you like! Please visit the Clifton Mill website for more information.

Before or after the race, visit the Clifton Gorge State Nature Preserve. Just a short hike (less than a half mile) from the Mill and see where the Little Miami River funnels into a deep narrow canyon forming one of the most spectacular gorges in the state!

Legendary Lights 10K
New this year, we have added a 10K race! It will start at the same time as the 5K race. The course is out-and-back and will continue further out on Tanyard road. For safety concerns due to darkness, we ask that all 10K participants maintain a 12:30 minutes per mile pace or less. If you feel that you cannot maintain that pace, please register for the 5K distance. The Legendary Lights 10k is brought to you by Run Bob Racing. Legendary Lights Kids Run
The Legendary Lights Kids Run is brought to you by Run Bob Racing. The Kids Run is for kids age 10 and under. The Kids Run will begin at 3:45pm (15 minutes before the 5K - 10K races). The course is around the block, one lap or two, it is up to you! No online pre-race registration is required for kids and it is free if at least one parent or guardian is registered for the 5K or 10K. Again, kids can be registered at the check-in table on race day.
