About this race
Join us for the Live Your Best Life Sensory Walk & 5K, an inclusive charity run and walk in Iowa City designed for participants of all abilities. Whether you're a seasoned runner chasing a new PR, a casual walker enjoying the morning with friends, or a family looking for a fun community event, this is for you.
Hosted by Systems Unlimited, this event supports people living with disabilities and mental health needs across Eastern Iowa. For 55 years, Systems Unlimited has worked to remove barriers and create opportunities so the people we serve can live healthy, active, and fulfilling lives.
Join fellow runners on October 19, 2024 for the Live Your Best Life 5k. It's a fantastic 5K, 1.6K featuring a flat and fast course in Iowa City.

Terry True-Blood recreation area is the perfect place for a run! Please register here for the proper 5K event. Every registration comes with our swag bag, and entry to our after party, sensory walk areas, and a whole lot of fun.
Live Your Best Life VIRTUAL 5k
Run our event anywhere in the world! We know you’re busy, but you know a good cause when you see one. So even if you can’t join us on race day we’d love for you to be part of the fun! Many of the people we serve at Systems Unlimited work hard towards the goal of accomplishing a 5K for months leading up to the event, but can’t always get here the day of the race and we wanted to open the opportunity to the community as well! We encourage you to blow some bubbles while you are at it, wear a jingling necklace, or light up shoes and send pictures of yourself also enjoying something that stimulates the senses in the spirit of our sensory stations! Our 5k packet includes everything you need to have an amazing virtual event. Items included: - Race Shirt - Race Bib - Finisher Medal

Join our 1-mile Sensory Walk! Did you know everyone has unique and individualized sensory needs? It's true, it is not just people from the autistic community that require sensory input! Stationed throughout our 1-mile walk there will be sensory stations to experience and enjoy. - Scented Bubble Station - Light Tunnel - Ribbon Run Through - Music Stations - and more!
