Races Offered
Trail running
Lizard Peak Scramble 10k
This is a run and scramble to the summit of Lizard Peak and out to the blue waters of Lake Havasu. The 10k race will take runners from the start/finish to the summit of Lizard Peak. Runners will gain approximately 500' of elevation in a half mile. Once at the top it's a race down a valley, around the mountain and out to Balanced Rock Cove where they will come face to face with the pristine blue waters of Lake Havasu, marking the halfway point. Runners will then make a 1-mile journey up a fairly flat gravel wash before gaining more elevation. This course is a mix of single track, loose gravel and sandy washes. The majority of the elevation gain is found in the first mile with a short, but vertical rock wall scramble at .72 miles that will test participants agility, nerves and teamwork with Lizard Peak towering overhead. (Event Crew member at this location to assist as needed) Once at the infamous summit, runners may take a second to snap a pic and get a “peek” of the giant 75' long lizard rock formation 500 feet below or take in the 360° panoramic views of the city and blue waters of Lake Havasu before heading down. Terrain on the backside of Lizard Peak will zig zag down rocky switchbacks, consisting of loose gravel on descents. Buckle up! You ready to tackle Lizard Peak? Hit that "Sign Up" button.
Lizard Peak Scramble 5k
This race will follow the same path to the summit as the 10k. The 5k Scramble is expected to be a fun, challenging yet still fairly fast event. This course is a mix of single track, loose gravel and sandy washes. The majority of the elevation gain is found in the first mile with a short, but vertical rock wall scramble at .72 miles that will test participants agility, nerves and teamwork with Lizard Peak towering overhead. (Event Crew member at this location to assist as needed) Once at the infamous summit, runners may take a second to snap a pic and get a “peek” of the giant lizard rock formation 500 feet below or take in the 360° panoramic views of the city and blue waters of Lake Havasu before heading down. After the elevation gain runners will zig zag down the back side of Lizard Peak, shoot down a short valley before eventually making their way back onto some runnable single track where they round the mountain and bring it home. Terrain on the backside of Lizard Peak will zig zag down rocky switchbacks, consisting of loose gravel on descents. Buckle up! You ready to tackle Lizard Peak? Hit that "Sign Up" button.
5k Fun Run/Hike
This is the one! Ideal for runners and hikers alike. If you're new to trail running this will give you a great taste of life on the dirt. Likewise, if you're an avid runner, we're confident you're going love this loop. Not interested in tackling the elevation of Lizard Peak? No worries! The Heart Attack Hill 5k Fun Run/Hike may be just what the Doctor ordered. Don't let the name scare you. This race will take you across some amazing single-track trails with modest elevation gains and losses. This loop will share the same start/finish as the Lizard Peak Scramble, while taking runners further south on a fun, scenic and even potentially fast 5k loop for those serious runners. Participants looking for a fun, yet competitive event can make this as easy or challenging as they want. Grab your family, friends or coworkers and join us for Havasu's first official Trail Race. No aid stations. There will be a member of our team at the bottom of Heart Attack Hill to guide you in.
Kids 1k Dirt Dash
