Med City Marathon is celebrating 30 years! Presented by ActivePT
Join us for a premier midwest race weekend, with our NEW FINISH LINE IN THE HEART OF DOWNTOWN ROCHESTER! This is the one to run in 2026!
Weekend events include: Boston Qualifier/USATF certified Marathon, Marathon Relay (2 or 4 person teams), GPC Half Marathon, Altra 5K, GLK Kids Race, Med City Health & Fitness Expo, and Med City Block party with some great midwest live music groups.
Join fellow runners on May 17, 2025 for the Med City Marathon, presented by ActivePT. It's a fantastic 5K, 1.9K, Marathon, Half-Marathon, 32.2K featuring a flat and fast course in Rochester.

Altra FCU 5K
Join us for the most festive 5K in Rochester, the Altra FCU Saturday night 5K! Running the zumbro trails into the a closed off downtown, with a celebration finish, including free beer and live bands performing. As well, take part in the "Fastest Wheels Competition" presented by Rochester Motor Cars if you would like, where you can test your sprint finish by having your final 40 yards timed (awards offered to fastest sprint finish).
Corporate and Community Team 5K
Race with your coworkers, community partners, or a group of friends! Must have at least 5 team members.
GLK Ortho KIDS RUN
The kids race is free and includes a finisher medal, thanks to GLK orthodontics. T-shirts can be added for $10
Stay out of the Sun Run 5K
This event will part of the Altra 5K. This registration is for runners affiliated with the Stay Out of the Sun Run supporting the skin cancer center. Runners receive a different design longsleeve than Altra 5K registration. Runners not affiliated should register above with the Altra 5K registration.
Altra 5K, PRIDE edition
This event is part of the Altra 5K. The PRIDE edition offers a unique MCM / PRIDE hoodie as part of registration and donation options go directly to support Rochester PRIDE. All other logistics of the event are the exact same as the Altra 5K.
FULL MARATHON, presented by ActivePT
With a newer course and brand new finish line, the Full Marathon is now a PR course for Boston Qualifying runners. Shuttle buses will drop runners off at the start line near the RTS Airport. Runners will work their way down to the center of Rochester, passing through country roads to the Zumbro River trail system that cuts through tree lined neighborhoods and parks and city center. Finish right in the heart of downtown Rochester into our brand new finish line party! USATF certified marathon course
GPC HALF MARATHON
Introducing MN's FASTEST half marathon! With our new course, this event has a down hill feel, all the way to the finish line, with plenty of space and shaded trails to keep you cruising to the finish line. USATF certified course
Med City 20 MILER
Race now starts at 6.2 miles of the full marathon, giving you the same awesome course as the Full Marathon and allowing runners to get to cross the awesome new finish line in the heart of downtown. The #1 training event for your summer marathons.
