About the Event
The "Miles Cupcake 5k and Fun Run" is named after Shane Miles, former GO FAR Coach and ultra runner with a true love for people and running! Shane helped coach when the program had just begun on the Outer Banks and continued to volunteer over the years. His passion for running was contagious and inspiring, his dedication and determination were unwavering. OBX GO FAR is proud to name its Miles College Education Fund in honor of Shane Miles. The proceeds from this event will go to OBX GO FAR a non-profit children’s running program designed to build healthier, happier children and families. Your registration will help fund the Miles College Education Fund, provide scholarships for children who cannot meet registration fees in the GO FAR Children's program as well as help us cover the essential costs of our program.
You can create a TEAM with your friends, family or co-workers and WIN the "Biggest Batch" Cupcake Trophy! This milestone event is all about celebrating community, fitness and sweet treats that make life a little more fun. Whether you're a seasoned runner or just in it for the cupcakes this event has something for everyone!
Join local Dare County GO FAR youth in our Miles Cupcake 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run presented by OBX Go Far on Saturday, May 2nd beginning at 8 AM! We have a festive start and finish in downtown Manteo with one of a kind custom finisher's medal and of course cupcakes! Packet Pick-up will take place Thursday April 30, 2:30p -6:30p, at Jockey's Ridge State Park; the morning of the race, beginning at 7:00-7:30 AM.
8:00 AM 5k Start and 8:05 AM Fun Run start.
Runners must register by April 10th to guarantee a cupcake tee shirt!

Parking will be TBD. Race Course/Maps are on our Facebook page @ OBX GOFAR for the 5k and 1 mile start! Course will be an out and back.

Schedule: Thursday April 30 Packet Pick Up at Jockeys Ridge State Park: 2:30p-5:30p Saturday, May 2nd Race starts at 8AM in Manteo Packet Pick Up & Race Day Registration 7:00-7:30 a.m. Check-in, packet pick up for 5K and 1 mile outside by the start arch with tables and volunteers will be there to assist! 8:00 a.m. 5k Race Starts 8:05 a.m. Fun Run (1 mile) Starts 8:45 a.m. Awards, recognitions post party for OBX GO FAR runners.
