Join us for the inaugural Miles That Matter 5K, hosted by the Working Moms of San Antonio Foundation!
Run it, walk it, bring the family, gather your friends, or complete the virtual race on your own schedule. This event is open to the entire community. You do not need to be a mom, a woman, or an experienced runner to participate.
Come for the miles and stay for the post-race celebration with local vendors, refreshments, photo opportunities, family-friendly fun, and plenty of community energy.
A portion of the proceeds support Foundation programs that create opportunities for women and girls to learn, lead, connect, and thrive!

5K Run and Walk
Professionally timed by IAAP and open to runners and walkers of all experience levels.
Registration:
- $35 through February 28
- $40 beginning March 1
- $45 beginning April 30 and on race morning
Kids Fun Run
A fun and encouraging race experience for children ages 1 through 12. Parents and guardians must remain on-site.
Registration:
- $15 through April 29
- $20 beginning April 30 and on race morning
Virtual 5K
Complete your 5K wherever and whenever works best for you.
Completion Window: April 24 through May 9, 2027

Shirts and Medals
An official event shirt is included only with registrations completed by March 31, 2027 at 11:59 PM Central. Registrations completed after the deadline will not include a shirt.
Registered participants who complete the in-person 5K, Kids Fun Run, or Virtual 5K will receive a finisher medal. Medals are limited.
Awards
Awards will be presented to:
- Overall male and female winners
- Male and female masters winners
- First, second, and third place male and female finishers in 10-year age groups
Overall awards will be based on gun time. There will be no duplication of awards. Awards apply to the timed, in-person 5K only.

Important Policies
- All registration fees, processing fees, donations, purchases, and shipping charges are nonrefundable.
- Official participant transfers and changes from the in-person 5K to the Virtual 5K must be completed through RunSignup by April 23, 2027.
- The event is scheduled to take place rain or shine. Refunds will not be issued.
- Strollers are welcome. Participants with strollers must start toward the back.
- Pets are not permitted in the Race Village or on the course. Trained service animals are permitted as allowed by law.

Running
Miles That Matter 5K Run and Walk
Run it. Walk it. Make it count. The Miles That Matter 5K Run and Walk is an inclusive, professionally timed community race for experienced runners, casual walkers, first-time 5K participants, families, friends and community teams. Your registration includes professional timing by IAAP, an official race shirt, custom finisher medal, race bib, eligibility for competitive awards and access to the complete post-race celebration. Strollers are welcome in the designated stroller area behind runners. Pets are not permitted on the course or in the race village. Trained service animals are welcome in accordance with applicable law.
Miles That Matter Kids Fun Run
Big impact can start with little steps! The Miles That Matter Kids Fun Run is a short, untimed event created especially for our youngest participants. Kids can run, walk, skip or make their way to the finish line at their own pace while family and friends cheer them on. The Kids Fun Run is open to children ages 1 through 12. Each registered child will receive a race bib and kids finisher medal. A parent or legal guardian must register the child, complete the required waiver and remain onsite throughout the event.
Miles That Matter Virtual 5K
Life is full, schedules are complicated and sometimes the best finish line is the one you create for yourself. Complete 3.1 miles anytime from April 24 through May 9, 2027. Walk your neighborhood, visit your favorite trail, use a treadmill or gather a group of friends and complete your miles together. Virtual registration includes an official Miles That Matter shirt, custom finisher medal and the option to submit your results through RunSignup. Virtual results are self-reported and are not eligible for competitive awards. Participants may collect their packets locally at no additional charge or add domestic shipping for $10 per participant.
