The 4th Annual Milford Moves for Veterans 5K Run & Walk Sunday, June 17, 2018 at 9:00 am (Father's Day) 100% of proceeds will benefit Veterans' groups of Milford Start your Father's Day celebration with us! *After the 5K, enjoy free pizza from the Colony Grill food truck! *Participants ages 21+ are invited to Colony Grill of Milford (only a 200-yard walk from the finish) for a free post-race beer or soft drink. *Other post-race refreshments include bagels, bananas, and fluids. *The 5k Run/Walk will be chip timed! *Plenty of parking will be available in lots, designated areas, side streets, in The Milford Bank and Colony Grill parking lots (no parking on the race course). *A dri fit shirt will be guaranteed to all entrants registered by June 3rd, 2018. *A free Kids “Run For The Flag” Fun Run - a non-competitive, 200-yard scamper for kids 12 and younger only - weather permitting. All kids receive a flag and medal at the finish - with a group photo to follow. AWARDS *Awards for top male & female finisher *Awards for top male & female Military or Veteran - NEW THIS YEAR - COLONY GRILL $1000 PRIZE / DONATION - $500 awarded to 1st place Veteran or Military Male & Female finisher to be donated to the charity of his/her choice. *Awards categories: Top three male and female finishers in the following age groups: 9 & under; 10-12; 13-18; 19-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60-69; 70-79; 80+ *All top finishers receive commemorative Dog Tag awards. *Most Patriotic Award: Show off your stars and stripes! REGISTRATION FEES & Info- REGISTRATION CLOSES AT 500 people, so sign up now, before it’s too late! *EARLY BIRD ONLINE Registration (by April 30, 2018): $25 for ages 19 & over; $20 for ages 18 & under *Online Registration increases (May 1 - June 15): $30 for ages 19 & over; $25 for ages 18 & under *FREE for U.S. Military and Veterans now thru event date. Advanced (online) registration will officially close on FLAG DAY June 14th at 8 pm. (Sorry, no registration on June 15th so that we can prep for pre-Reg pickup.) EVENT SCHEDULE Saturday, June 16, 2018: Early Packet Pick-up & Registration 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM: Bib pick-up & registration with cash/check, if race hasn’t reached capacity The Milford Bank, 33 Broad Street, Milford (Tent outside) LATE Registration: $35 for ages 19 & over; $30 for ages 18 & under. Cash/check only if 500 limit not reached. SUNDAY June 17: 7:30-9:00 am Late registration (fees above) & packet pickup at Lisman Landing, Hewig St. 8:30 am Kids “Run For The Flag” fun run 9:00 am 5K Run/Walk race start 9:30 am Post-race party starts at Colony 10:00 am Awards RACE DIRECTOR Marty Schaivone is with us again this year. He is the coordinator of more than 35 races in CT, including the Milford Hospital Live Well 5K on Mother’s Day, Aquarion/Barnum Festival 5k & 10k in Bridgeport, the Colony Grill Hot Oil Run, Bigelow Tea Community Challenge in Fairfield, the Great Pumpkin Classic at Trumbull High School, and many more races in Fairfield County. 5K Active U.S. Military or Veteran
Military Service Members and Veterans of all abilities are encouraged to join us to run or walk in support of Milford's Veteran charities. This year our dedicated partner - Colony Grill of Milford - has added a terrific prize package for the top male and female veteran/military participant. Each will receive $500 to donate to a charity of his/her choice. We look forward to presenting this new prize at our awards ceremony.
