Mitchell's Run Thru Rockford
About this race
Welcome to the 28th annual 5K Race and Kids K Fun Run thru downtown Rockford.
The course runs through historic downtown Rockford and along the majestic Rogue River. Accurate splits at each mile and finish times.
Mitchell's Run Thru Rockford (MRTR) was organized to benefit Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy (PPMD). Mitchell Peterson, and many other boys and some girls from West Michigan have been diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. All race proceeds will be donated to PPMD in Mitchell's honor, to END DUCHENNE. This is a fun, family event, with live music and a festive atmosphere. The course runs through scenic Rockford and along The White Pine Trail!
Each registered 5K participant will receive a Mitchell's Run race tee, race bib, a finisher medal and race refreshments.
Each registered Kids K participant will receive a Mitchell's Run race tee, race bib, finisher medal and treat.
Each Virtual 5K participant will be mailed a race packet with our MRTR race tee, race bib and medal prior to the event.
Packet pick up will take place on:
Friday, August 21 from 4:30pm - 7:00pm
Saturday, August 22 from 7:00am - 8:00am
Join fellow runners on August 19, 2023 for the Mitchell's Run Thru Rockford. It's a fantastic 5K, 1.6K featuring a flat and fast course in Rockford.

The race begins on the Bridge Street Bridge over the Rogue River at the Rockford Dam and ends on N. Squire St. Late registration after August 15, t-shirt size cannot be guaranteed.
Kids K
Kids 2 and up to 10 years of age can participate in the KidsK. Parents are welcome to accompany children. Approx. 1/8 mile for ages 2-6, 1K for ages 7-9. New this year - The race begins in the parking lot behind Kayla Rae Cellars, runs along the white pine trail to the 5K finish line on N. Squire St.
