Moorpark Groundhog Day 5k/1M
About this race
Benefiting Moorpark High School’s cross country and track programs, the Groundhog Day event consists of two events. Starting at the high school, the 5k is a fast, chip timed road race with an exciting finish at the beautiful Moorpark High School stadium. All ages and abilities are welcome. All participants age 11 and under who complete the 5k will received a finisher medal. There will also be a “Catch the Groundhog” 1 mile fun run for kids 11 and under which will be held on the track with finisher medals for all. Registration fees include a t-shirt for all runners (shirts are only guaranteed if you register by Sunday 1/24/27).
Post-race festivities include the awards ceremony with age group medals plus refreshments, vendors, and a raffle of wonderful prizes donated by local businesses.Pick your distance

ANTICIPATED SCHEDULE FRIDAY 2/06/26 5:00pm to 7:00pm -- Race Packet Pick-Up and Registration -Location at Moorpark High School, 4500 Tierra Rejada Rd in Moorpark -Community Room near Library (enter campus off Arroyo Vista Park Drive/Countrywood) RACE DAY - SATURDAY 2/07/26 6:30am Race Day Registration and Bib Pick-Up Opens (at MHS Stadium, park in any MHS lot) 7-10am Pre and Post Race Festival at MHS Stadium 7:50am National Anthem 8:00am 5k Race starts on track 9:00am 1 Mile Kids/Family Fun Run on Track, Catch the Groundhog! 9:15am 5k Awards Ceremony 5k AWARDS -all finishers age 11 and under will receive a medal -plaque to overall top male and female -medals for top three finishers male/female of each age group: 0-7 8-11 12-15 16-19 20-29 30-34 35-39 40-44 45-49 50-54 55-59 60-69 70-79 80-120 (1 medal)
