Get ready for Thanksgiving dinner with a 3.2 mile fun run or walk through Island City, OR ending and beginning at Mountain Valley Therapy parking lot.
The Thanksgiving tradition, organized by MVT/MVFH, is an all-ages family event that raises money each year for a local non-profit. This year all proceeds will benefit the Friday Backpack Program .
The Turkey Trot is a family event that has something for everyone! Come run, walk and cheer all while benefitting a great new organization that promotes physical activity in our grade schools.

What is the Friday Backpack Program?
Union County Friday Backpack (UCFBP) is a nonprofit organization based in La Grande, Oregon, dedicated to preventing weekend hunger among elementary students (K–5) throughout Union County. With approximately 60% of local students qualifying for free or reduced-price meals, many children face food insecurity when school meals are unavailable. During the school year, volunteers pack and distribute weekend food bags through elementary schools in La Grande, Island City, Elgin, Imbler, Cove, Union, and North Powder, ensuring children in need have access to supplemental food outside of school.
