Muncy Monster Dash 5k

Don’t be ghoulish, come join the Organization of Parents and Teachers (OPT) on SATURDAY, October 31 as they will be hosting the 16th Annual Monster Dash 5K Run/Walk and Kids 1 Mile Fun Run in Muncy, Pa.  This is the school’s biggest fundraiser of the year!  There are 2 races you can choose from!  The races will take place around the historical town of Muncy. The race will begin at Ward L. Myers Elementary School, 125 New Street, Muncy, Pa.  Please see the map of the routes for details.  The 5k, timed and untimed, you pick, is for all ages! Strollers are welcomed! No pets, please.  There will be route guides along the race’s loop to guide all runners. 

The Kids 1 Mile Fun Run is mainly for students 12 and under. There will be optional obstacles on the first 1 mile loop.  If you feel your child needs an adult to make it through the first one mile safely, please join them as the Monster Dash is not liable for them.  There will be route guides along the race’s loop to guide all runners.  The 5k will begin first at 9:30am.  Timed racers will go first followed by the untimed racers. The Kids 1 Mile Fun Run will follow shortly after approximately 9:35-9:40am.  The race will begin on time, so please plan accordingly.  Proceeds from this event will be used to continue to support school-wide programs, activities and supplies offered to the students of Ward L. Myers Elementary School. Some specific events this race will support include, but not limited to: classroom field trips for students in K-6, school shirts to promote school pride, school dances, Santa Shop, prizes for holiday art contest, the spelling bee, educational concerts and assemblies, field day, banners around the outside of the school, and end of the year activities.    So, gather your family and friends and join us for a spooky good time! Wear a costume or your Monster Dash shirt the day of the race! We hope to see you there! PRIZES:
The top male and female timed runners over the age of 18 have the opportunity to win $100 cash as the top prize!  Joe’s Pizza West End gift cards will be awarded to top timed finishers in each age group over 18. Gift cards from Hooplas for our top timed 17 and under runners in each age group will be given out. Timing will be provided by Falcon Race Timing to determine winners. REGISTRATION:
Please use the provided links to sign up for the race of choice. The last day to register online is October 27 at 8:30am.  You may register in person on race day, October 31.  Please come between 8-9am to do so.  PLEASE NOTE: The last day to get a FREE long sleeve shirt with registration is Saturday, October 10. Registration will remain open after October 10, but the free shirt WILL NOT be included with registration.  PACKET PICK UP:
Packet pick up will be on Thursday, October 29 from 6:30-8pm at Ward L. Myers Elementary in Muncy, Pa. The address is 125 New Street, Muncy, Pa. Pick up will be in the conference room when you walk into the school.  Packets can be picked up by friends and family members as long as the Ward L. Myers Elementary OPT is notified via email (myerselementaryopt@gmail.com) or if a message is sent to Muncy Monster Dash’s Facebook page prior to packet pick up night.  Packet pick up will also occur from 8-9:15 am on the day of the race, October 31.  Please allow yourself enough time to get your packet and be ready to race at 9:30am.  The race will start promptly at 9:30am.
