National Pancreatic Cancer Foundation 1 Mile Walk
About this race
Saturday, May 2nd
Grosse Pointe South High School Track
This year marks the second season that the Grosse Pointe South T&F programs will be without our longtime, beloved coach, Mike Novak, who passed away after a long battle with pancreatic cancer.
Mike was a true Blue Devil, a man dedicated to the sport of running but more importantly, passionate about helping young athletes become the best version of themselves.
A long-time educator and coach, he impacted the lives of countless individuals. He was a true hero. Mike was also a fantasy author of three novels (“Wandering Wizard” series)
was often called “Gandalf;” this meet is our humble attempt honor his legacy.
The 1 Mile Walk will take place prior to the 2nd Annual Wandering Wizard Track and Field Invitational.
