New Day * New Year 5k & Hny Fun Run (In person & Virtual)
About this race
Start the New Year off on the right foot! Join us for the 8th anniversary running of the New Day * New Year 5k on Thursday, January 1, 2026.
Take advantage of the opportunity to celebrate the first new day of the New Year with a run/walk at our 5k run and Happy New Year Fun Run. 5k Race will start at 10 AM from Lost Rhino Brewing Company in Ashburn, VA with the HNY Fun Run starting at 11 AM. (21730 Red Rum Dr #142, Ashburn, VA)

Choose to participate in our virtual 5k, 10k, or Out with the Old/In with the New 5k/10k Challenge options anytime Dec. 31 starting at 8 AM through Jan. 31 by 11:59 PM.
We can’t think of a better way to celebrate the New Day of the New Year than with running!
NOTE: The 10k will be virtual only for 2026
Inclement Weather Notice: Should we need to cancel the race due to inclement weather, all runners will be move to the virtual option, and swag will be available for pick up at a specified location in the weeks after the race.

Join in the celebration of the New Year with a 5k course experience, race swag choice of our 2026 New Day New Year blanket or long sleeve tech t-shirt, plus a toast to the New Year, with our New Year's Day finish line celebration party! Your swag will be available for pick up at the finish line area on race day. Opportunity to add on a Lost Rhino Beer or Breakfast available during the registration process. The 5k course will start and finish at Lost Rhino Brewing in Ashburn VA. Course will take you through the neighborhood streets of Ashburn and bring you back to the finish line where you can toast the New Year and warm up inside Lost Rhino Brewing's Tap Room with breakfast and beer. (must be 21 years of age or older with a valid ID to consume alcohol.)
HNY Fun Run (in person)
Join in the celebration of the New Year with a Happy New Year! Fun Run and enjoy race swag choice of our 2026 New Day New Year blanket or long sleeve tech t-shirt, plus a toast to the New Year, with our New Year's Day finish line celebration party! Your swag will be available for pick up at the finish line area on race day. Opportunity to add on a Lost Rhino Beer or Breakfast available during the registration process. (must be 21 years of age or older with a valid ID to consume alcohol.) The course will start and finish at Lost Rhino Brewing in Ashburn VA.
