Open Water Swim Clinic

Join Coaches Anne Torrez and Amanda Smith for an open water swim clinic to learn all you need to know to be ready for your triathlon or open water event! We will cover race skills including "seeding" strategy, managing race anxiety/panic in the water, simulation of race start, surging, passing, cornering buoys, sighting, drafting and swimming in crowded/choppy waters. 

Open to beginner and intermediate open water swimmers, or advanced swimmers who would like to refresh their open water/race swim skills. Participants will be split into groups according to comfort and experience level.

Personal swim buoys are REQUIRED for this event. You will not be allowed to get in the water without one. You can purchase one HERE with code 2026triityourway for 20% off. We have a limited number that we can lend out, so please email anne@triityourway.com to reserve one if yours will not arrive in time.

Please be sure to check your email the day of the clinic for any last minute updates or changes due to weather or water conditions.

Please bring:

swimsuit/goggles/cap

swim buoy 

water/hydration

wetsuits - typically optional at this time of year, but if you plan to use a wetsuit in your event, please bring it

sandals/towel/dry clothes for after suggested

Inclement Weather date: Clinic will go on in the rain. If we are experiencing inclement weather or dangerous conditions, we will make every effort to reschedule the clinic.

Poor water quality plan: If water quality tests fail the week of the clinic, clinic location may be changed or clinic may be rescheduled.

Refund policy: If clinic is cancelled with no rescheduled date, a refund less the runsignup processing fees will be provided to registered participants. If clinic must be rescheduled, due to unforeseen circumstances including weather, an option to attend the reschedule date or a refund less administrative/processing fees may be provided at the discretion of the event organizers.  No refunds can be given if clinic location changes due to unforseen circumstances such as water quality. If clinic must be completely cancelled by organizers due to low registration or other unforseen circumstances, a refund less the Runsignup processing fees will be provided. No refunds will be provided if participants do not show up at the clinic, or if your plans change and you are unable to make the clinic. An option to attend a makeup clinic may be offered on a case by case basis, with 48 hours or more notice.
