Runners, get ready for the trek through downtown Historic Wilmington, North Carolina with a Half Marathon, 10K or 5K! The Battleship Half Marathon started in 1998 and is one of the oldest Half Marathons in the South. We are excited for you to join us.
Moored in quiet dignity and majesty the Battleship NORTH CAROLINA, across the river from downtown Wilmington, beckons visitors to walk her decks. Envision the daily life and fierce combat her crew faced in the Pacific Theatre during World War II. From all across our Nation they came, young men who had grown up in the crucible of the Great Depression and now determined to serve their Country in its time of need. These are the men whose stories you will encounter through their oral histories, photographs, and mementos as you experience the Ship and the exhibits. Step back in time and let history come alive through the crews’ stories. Imagine yourself steering the ship, starting her engines or even firing the guns. All participants receive a free entry to the Battleship North Carolina. Just show your 2025 Battleship Half Marathon race bib on either November 15 or November 16, 2025 for an entry.
Join fellow runners on November 3, 2019 for the Parkway Subaru Battleship Half Marathon & GFL 10K|5K. It's a fantastic Half-Marathon, 10K, 5K featuring a flat and fast course in Wilmington.

Half Marathon
All half marathoners will receive a Battleship T-shirt, and a 4" half marathon medal. Additionally: Runners can enjoy packet pickup and a Battleship Tour Saturday before the race Runners can add on a pasta dinner ticket for Saturday evening on the Battleship Runners will get to enjoy a post race celebration at the finish line
10K
All 10K will receive a Battleship T-shirt, and a 2.5" Battleship 10K medal. Additionally: Runners can enjoy packet pickup and a Battleship Tour Saturday before the race Runners can add on a pasta dinner ticket for Saturday evening on the Battleship Runners will get to enjoy a post race celebration at the finish line
5K
All 5K runners will receive a Battleship T-shirt, and a 2.5" Battleship 5K medal. Half Marathon Physically Challenged
A physically challenged (PC) athlete for the purposes of Go Time Events is defined as any person with a significant and permanent physical or motor deficiency but still allows them to be ambulatory for road racing. Examples of appropriate permanent physical challenges include: Partial or complete loss of a lower extremity, such as a Symes or leg amputation. Some have significant loss of motor function due to stroke or a serious degenerative neurological condition affecting the extremities such as Multiple Sclerosis. Awards will be given to the top three males/females in the PC Division.
Half Marathon Visually Impaired
Visually Impaired: A visually impaired runner must meet the classifications of IBSA Visual Classifications Class B1, B2, B3 and B4. See below for Rules for Visually Impaired. Awards will be given to the top three males/females in the Visually Impaired Division.
Half Marathon Duo-Teams (Pusher)
Duo-Runners (PUSHER) - Identified as a runner or walker pushing a person with permanent disabilities in a customized racing wheelchair. The abled bodied athlete will be scored in the abled bodied race. This allows the pusher to be eligible for the general awards in the open event. Awards will be given to the top 3 Duo Teams based on the rider's finish time.
Half Marathon Duo-Teams (Rider)
Duo-Runners (RIDER) - Identified as a person with permanent disabilities in a customized racing wheelchair. Awards for Duo Teams will be given to the top 3 teams based on the rider's finish time. The abled bodied athlete will be scored in the abled bodied race. This allows the pusher to be eligible for the general awards in the open event.

Wheelchair
Half Marathon PUSH-RIM Wheelchair
A wheelchair athlete for the purposes of Go Time Events is defined as any person with a significant and permanent physical or motor deficiency requiring the use of a push-rim wheelchair (not hand cranks) to compete. Able-bodied individuals may not participate in the Wheelchair Division. Rules and regulations for wheelchairs will be based from the International Paralympic Committee’s regulations. See below for wheelchair specifications. Awards will be given to the top three males/females in the Push-rim Division. For the safety of the athlete and all participants, athlete finish time must not be faster than 45 minutes in the half marathon. Finishing faster than this time will disqualify the athlete from the event and potentially ban them from future events.
Half Marathon Hand Crank
Hand Crank athletes are invited to participate in the Half Marathon. No awards will be given for the Hand Crank division.
