About this race
The 2025 Pittsburgh Penguins 6.6K Run and Family Walk presented by Highmark is set for Sunday, October 5, at PPG Paints Arena! Join us for our in-person 6.6K Run or 3.3K Family Walk, or you can participate wherever you are in the Virtual 6.6K! All proceeds benefit the cancer research and patient care initiatives of the Mario Lemieux Foundation and the youth initiatives of the Pittsburgh Penguins Foundation.

RACE DAY INFO:
**If you registered for an in-person event and do not attend, we will not mail your race packet! You can transfer to the virtual event using your RunSignUp account through October 4.
**If you register after 9:00 AM on Friday, October 3 for an in-person event, you will need to come to the registration area at packet pick-up to have a race number assigned.

Race Start Time:
The 6.6K will start promptly at 8:00 AM on Fifth Avenue outside the EQT Gate at PPG Paints Arena; 3.3K walkers will line up behind runners and follow accordingly.
6.6K Raffle:
All participants in the 6.6K Run, 3.3K Walk and 6.6K Virtual Event are eligible for raffle prizes and will automatically be entered to win. Winning bib numbers will be selected at random. Prizes will be mailed to winners.
Age Group Prizes:
Age category awards for male and female competitors will be based on chip time in the following categories: 9 & Under, 10-13, 14-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80 & Over. Cash prizes will be presented to the top three overall male and female finishers. Overall winners are not eligible for age category awards. Prizes will be mailed to winners. Virtual participants are not eligible for age group prizes. Age group awards will be mailed to winners. Virtual participants are not eligible for age category awards.
Race Transfers:
Participants can transfer between events, including between in-person and virtual, for a fee of $10.00 (plus the difference in event cost) through Saturday, October 4. If you registered for an in-person event and do not attend, we will not mail your race packet!

F.N.B. Gate, PPG Paints Arena
Parking is available in the East Lot Block B Lot across from the F.N.B. Gate. Tell the volunteer you are there for 6.6K Packet Pickup. See the FAQ page for additional parking information.
Participants are able to pick up packets for friends and family.
Medals are not included with in-person race packets. Medals are received at the finish line!

This offer is good for exclusive ticket discounts to two games during the 2025-26 season: October 21 vs the Vancouver Canucks and October 27 vs the St. Louis Blues. The ticket link and additional information will be included in your confirmation email.
Run the 6.6K Virtually Through October 5:
Can’t make it to Pittsburgh on October 5? Join the Virtual 6.6K and register to run your Virtual 6.6K anytime between your registration date and October 5.
Please make sure to enter your virtual race time by October 5 by following the instructions in your confirmation email. You are able to enter your time manually. You do not need to upload an image of your time! You must submit your time in order to receive the race shirt and medal. Virtual Race packets will be mailed the week of October 13. Shirt, medal and any earned fundraising prizes will be mailed together.

6.6K Run
6.6K distance (4.1 miles) The 6.6K Run will begin at PPG Paints Arena, run through Pittsburgh streets and return to PPG Paints Arena for the finish. Discounts are available for kids ages 13 & under as of race day. Participants in the 6.6K are allowed to walk but must maintain a minimum 20-minute pace. Included with registration for this timed event is a custom short-sleeve performance shirt and custom finishing medal.
6.6K Run - Virtual Race
Registration for the 6.6K Virtual Race is now open! The Virtual Race is only available for the 6.6K. The cost is $35 + processing fee, and shipping is included to the US and Canada. Participants will receive a custom short-sleeve performance shirt and finishing medal after submitting their Virtual Race finishing time on the Mario Lemieux Foundation website. Participants will receive an email the week of the race with further instructions on how to submit their official time. Virtual Race times must be submitted by October 15 at 11:59PM EST. Shirts and medals will be shipped to participants via regular USPS by November 7. For shipping outside of the US and Canada, additional fees will apply and will be processed through PayPal outside of the RunSignUp registration process. Virtual Race registration closes on October 7 and is not available on race weekend. Virtual Race participants are eligible to become a Pittsburgh Penguins 6.6K Fundraiser. All fundraising prizes earned will be mailed with the race packet after the race.

3.3K Walk- Individual
3.3K distance (2.05 miles) The 3.3K Walk will begin and end at PPG Paints Arena. Included with registration is a custom short-sleeve performance shirt and custom finishing medal.
3.3K Walk- Family (Group of 4)
3.3K distance (2.05 miles) The 3.3K Walk will begin and end at PPG Paints Arena. Included with registration is a custom short-sleeve performance shirt and custom finishing medal. All four participants receive a shirt and race medal.
