Race for Peace 5K
About this race
The Little Village Rotary Club presents the 6th Annual Carrera por paz, or Race for Peace, a community 5K Run/Walk Event. This event's objective is to promote anti-violence by supporting youth programs in Chicago’s Little Village and surrounding communities. Proceeds of this race will be invested into the community in the form of renewable grants, youth development, and job training.
Race for Peace will have both competitive and non-competitive 5K in-person events. Only the competitive 5K in-person event will qualify runners for the cash prizes. All of the 5K in-person events will qualify runners for the age group and gender awards.
• All registered runners will receive a finisher medallion and Race Day event t-shirt.
• Cash prizes will be awarded for the top three runners, both men and women categories.
• The race is chip-timed on a certified 5K course (IL21011NM).

Race for Peace—5K Competitive
This event is for competitive runners expecting to finish in under 30 minutes. Slower runners and young runners are encouraged to participate in the Non-Competitive Events. Entering this 5K event qualifies you to compete for cash prizes and medal awards in various categories. More information on awards and prizes at LVRCRaceforPeace.com
Race for Peace—5K Non-Competitive (all ages)
This event is for casual, non-competitive runners (all ages) expecting to finish in under 45 minutes. Runners of all skills and ages are encouraged to participate in this event. Race for Peace also offers a competitive 5K for those who are participating and would like to compete for prizes. Participants of this 5K event DO NOT qualify for cash prizes, but do qualify for age group and gender awards.
Race for Peace—5K Virtual (all ages)
This Virtual 5K event is for casual or competitive runners of all ages who will not be participating in person. Runners of all skills and ages are welcomed to participate in this event. Submitting times for this virtual 5K run is optional. Race for Peace also offers a competitive and non-competitive in-person 5Ks for those who would like to attend. Participants of this virtual 5K event DO NOT qualify for cash prizes or any other race awards.
