About this race

Join us on Saturday, May 16, 2026 for the 12th Annual Race for the Warrior at 10:00 am. R4TW supports the Northeast Indiana Base Community Council and their Military Support Fund. The race will take flight on the adaptive and stroller friendly runways at the Fort Wayne International Airport and will occur rain or shine (no refunds will be issued). Race t-shirt/swag not guaranteed for registrations made after 5/1/2026.
  • Gates open 5/16/26 at 8:30 am for packet pickup/check-in and same day registration.
  • Training Trot start time -  Approximately 11:30 am
  • Bicycles are NOT allowed on the course

5K Ruck

A "Ruck" is a common activity in the military where a soldier marches with a backpack on, typically holding all the gear they will need to live out of in the field. This can be done as either a run or a walk. For R4TW's Ruck, we are encouraging giving back to the community by filling up a backpack with canned goods and rucking a 5K. All canned goods will be donated to the Community Harvest Food Bank. Sign up for this 5K Ruck and see if you can ruck like a real soldier! 5K Adaptive Division

For individuals with permanent physical and/or visual impairments. Individuals with Physical Disabilities: Individuals with a permanent physical disability that precludes them from participating at a high level with their peers in non adaptive programs. Amputation/limb loss, spinal cord injury, spina bifida, leg length discrepancy, permanent joint disorders, cerebral palsy/brain injury/stroke and other orthopedic and locomotor disabilities are just a few of the examples. Individuals with Visual Impairments: Individuals who have vision that's not correctable through glasses, contacts, etc are encouraged to signed up under the "Adaptive Division".
