PACKET PICKUP

A WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 30TH PACKET PICKUP HAS BEEN ADDED TO THIS EVENT BASED ON THE NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS THAT ARE SIGNED UP.   PACKET PICKUP WILL BE AT THE BANDSTAND AT REHOBOTH AVENUE & THE BOARDS FROM 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM.    PLEASE MAKE AN ATTEMPT TO COME PICK UP YOUR T-SHIRT & BIB WHICH WILL MAKE RACE MORNING FLOW MUCH EASIER & QUICKER.   IF YOU ARE DRIVING IN ON RACE MORNING, WE TOTALLY UNDERSTAND, BUT KEEP IN MIND THAT YOU SHOULD GIVE YOURSELF EXTRA TIME ON RACE MORNING.   PLEASE DO NOT SHOW UP AFTER 11:30 AM AS WE WILL BE MOVING FROM RACE DAY REGISTRATION TO THE RACE DAY KID'S DASH & 5K START.

THE SEASHORE STRIDERS DO ALLOW FRIENDS & RELATIVES TO PICK UP FOR OTHERS AS WELL.

Join the Seashore Striders to close out the year with a 5k out and back course beginning on the boardwalk and running north to the turn-a-round at Gordon's Pond, Cape Henlopen State Park.

9 & UNDER KIDS 1/4 MILE FUN RUN IS FREE WITH NO REGISTRATION REQUIRED AND NO TSHIRT....At 11:50 am the kid's will race 200m north on the boardwalk and 200m south to the finish line as the 5k runners gather by the finish and cheer on the young runners.

RACE LOCATION: The Bandstand at 1 Rehoboth Avenue; Rehoboth Beach, DE. 19971

RACE TIME:  Kids Dash @ 11:50 and 5k at noon.

  • $35.00 Pre-Registration through December 30th at 11:59 p.m.
  • $40.00 Late Registration Race Day through December 31st from 12:00am -  11:50 a.m.

      • Most Seashore Events begin on-site registration 1 hr./60 min before the start of the event.   Some of the larger events (Seashore Half, Seawitch, Pumpkin Pie...) will begin 90 minutes before the start of the event. 
      • Some of the larger events will also offer "early packet pick-up the day before", however most of the Seashore Strider events do everything on race-day.

      • Please fill out the form completely & neatly double checking Age, Gender, Entry Fee Price (some events have different fee's) & Event Choice.

RACE COURSE: 3.11 mile out & back course from the Boardwalk at Rehoboth Avenue to the entrance to Cape Henlopen State Park at Gordon's Pond.

  • ALL PARTICIPANTS ARE REQUIRED TO RUN ON THE COURSE THAT IS MARKED WITH ARROWS AND CONES AND COMPLETE The FULL COURSE

  • PLEASE STAY ON THE ROAD WHERE IT IS MARKED AND POLICE ARE STATIONED

  • DO NOT RACE ON THE SIDEWALK, RUN THROUGH PRIVATE PROPERTY, OR RUN ON THE OPPOSITE SIDE OF THE ROAD.   IN MOST CASES YOU SHOULD BE RACING WITH TRAFFIC.   (FOR EXAMPLE, IF THE COURSE IS MARKED WITH ARROWS & CONES SO RUNNERS ARE ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF WILMINGTON AND CHRISTIAN STREETS, THEN NO RUNNER SHOULD BE ON THE LEFT SIDE FACING TRAFFIC).  ALSO, WHEN THE RACE IS DIRECTED AROUND A CONE OR CONES, FAILURE TO DO SO COULD RESULT IN CUTTING THE COURSE.

• SEASHORE STRIDER COURSE GUIDELINES:  THE FOLLOWING ARE NOT ALLOWED IN A SEASHORE STRIDER EVENT...THANK YOU FOR YOUR COOPERATION FOR THE SAFETY OF ALL PARTICIPANTS...RD TIM-SS
  • BIKES ARE NOT ALLOWED TO BE ON THE COURSE RIDING ALONG/PACING ANY REGISTERED RUNNER
  • BANDITS (NON REGISTERED) RUNNERS ARE NOT ALLOWED TO BE IN THE RACE RUNNING ALONG/PACING ANY REGISTERED RUNNER
  • HEADPHONES/EAR PODS ARE DISCOURAGED WEARING IN BOTH EARS DUE TO SAFETY OF HEARING TRAFFIC
    • THIS IS A TOUGH RULE TO ENFORCE AS 85% OF RUNNERS IN RACES LISTEN TO MUSIC AND THE RRCA RECOGNIZED THAT AND MOVED THE ENFORCEMENT FROM A DISQUALIFICATION TO MAKING IT THE RACE DIRECTORS DECISION.   MOST RACE DIRECTORS IN THE COUNTRY EITHER IGNORE THE ISSUE OR TRY TO WORK WITH THE RUNNERS.   MY STAND AS A RACE DIRECTOR IS TO ASK YOU TO NOT WEAR THEM AND IF YOU ABSOLUTELY MUST THEN ONLY WEAR THEM IN ONE EAR AND AT A LOW VOLUME LEVEL. 
       

RACE TIMING: Seashore Strider Event Production will chip time the event using the Chronotrack chip timing system.

RACE AMENITIES: Long Sleeve 100% Pre-Shrunk Cotton Race shirts guaranteed to all PRE-Registered participants by 12/24/26 ...register early...when we are out of t's - we are out.    Refreshments...Bagels when available from Surf Bagel.

AWARDS: Overall Male & Female, Master Male & Female, and top 3 finishers in 5 year age groups from 9 & U to 80 & O

RACE PARKING:  Parking will be on Rehoboth Avenue for this event and meters are not in effect.

REFUNDS/DEFERRAL:  The Seashore Striders have a "No Refund" policy, however we make every possible attempt to please our client with the following options:  1. Transfer to a future Seashore Strider owned event of equal value before the end of the current year.   2. Donate your entry fee to the charity associated with the event or to the Seashore Strider Youth Running program.  3. Transfer/Defer to the following year at the same event.  Thank You for your cooperation & understanding as some situations are beyond the control of the Seashore Striders.
