About the Event
IMPORTANT LOCATION INFORMATION: We are tentatively approved to return to the traditional course near the newly remodeled Depot & Tunnel area on East Church & Railroad Streets. However, if Tunnel repairs are not completed as scheduled, we will once again hold the race at Barnesville High School. We will know something more definitive by May 1st. Please keep an eye on for info on the website, emails and on our Facebook Page for updated info as race week approaches!!
We offer more trophies (nearly150!) in more divisions (including a Masters division in both the Run and Walk, a unique Dog-Walking Division, a Hand Cyclist/Wheelchair Division and scores of Age Groups) than most 5k's of this size that you will find most anywhere! These unique, beautifully hand-crafted trophies, featuring an authentic railroad spike, were once mentioned in Runner's World magazine and are highly sought-after!
We also have a HUGE smorgasbord of delicious food including pizza, our homemade Carlito's subs, deli-fresh sandwiches, Donley's Delicious Delights homemade cookies, and Jessica's famous pasta salad! If you leave this race hungry, it's your own fault!
We also collect lots of door prizes! With approximately 200 participants, your odds of winning a trophy or a door prize are pretty good!
The first 200 registrants receive are guaranteed a Tech shirt. Sizes only guaranteed to Early Bird preregistered; after that, it's 1st come, 1st serve so register early! Shirts can be reordered if registration numbers dictate.
Parents, stick around after the 5k for the Kids Fun Run. All kids win a trophy! Kids run in waves, from oldest to youngest and are greeted at the Finish Line by Spike, the Wheeling Nailers Mascot!

Races Offered
Running
5k Run
By choosing the Run, you are signing up in the Run Division. You are eligible for all Overall, Master's Division (40+) and Age Group Run Awards. You may sprint, run, jog, trot, and/or walk any or all portions of the course.
Clydesdale/Lady Athena 5k Run
By signing up in this division, you are certifying that, if male, you are 210+ lbs; if female, you are 170+ lbs. You are eligible for ONLY Overall, Master's Division (40+) and Clydesdale or Lady Athena Division Awards. You are NOT eligible for regular Age Group Awards. You may sprint, run, jog, trot, and/or walk any or all portions of the course.
Walking
5k Walk
This is a Competitive Walk. By choosing the Walk, you are signing up in the Walk Division. You are eligible for all Overall, Master's Division (50+) and Age Group Walk Awards. Walking is defined as having one foot on the ground AT ALL TIMES. You may NOT sprint, run, jog, and/or trot any portion of the course. To do so, even for one step, even if this is your first race, even if he or she "is only a kid" would be considered cheating and would be subject to disqualification without refund. Please be fair to other Walkers.
K9 Team Walk
This is a Competitive Walk. You are ONLY eligible for the K9 Team Walk Awards. You are NOT eligible for regular Walk Division Awards. Walking is defined as having one foot on the ground AT ALL TIMES. You may NOT sprint, run, jog, and/or trot any portion of the course, not a single step. To do so would be considered cheating and would be subject to disqualification without refund. Please be fair to other K9 Team Walkers. If you want to run with your dog, please sign up for the Run Division. Please remember, there are children & other dogs at this event. Be a responsible owner: Non-aggressive dogs only; No dogs “in heat”; On leash at all times (NO retractable leashes unless locked); ID Tags must be worn; Current Vaccinations; Please clean up after your dog (baggies available). Your dog is welcomed to any of the doggy or human refreshments. Please check with your local vet about any changes in diet or the consumption of human food. The director reserves the right to disqualify your team without refund if these rules are not adhered to.
Wheelchair
5k Hand Cyclist/Wheelchair Division
This is a wheeled division for less-abled body athletes. Handcycles, wheelchairs, recumbent bicycles are all acceptable modes of racing. For further questions, please contact the race.
