Join REACH GREEN for our first fundraising event in Boston!
REACH GREEN (reachgreen.org) is a Boston-based nonprofit focused on connecting participatory and endurance athletes with green space protection. We channel people’s passion for sport into tangible environmental impact by enabling them to do what they already love, running, cycling or walking, while raising funds for green space preservation, restoration, and creation. For our first fundraising event, we are challenging participants to climb the Harvard Stadium stairs (37 sections, 1,147 steps). To participate, teams of at least three people will choose a day to complete the climb and commit to the challenge together! Dates will be offered throughout September, October, and November. Before the climb, participants will collect donation pledges from friends, family, and other supporters. Donations can be a one-time amount or based on the number of stadium sections completed (for example, $1 per section would equal $37 for the full climb). Funds raised will support local environmental organizations in the Boston area and their work to protect and expand accessible green spaces. For example, one of our beneficiaries is Tree Boston (treeboston.org), an organization dedicated to expanding Boston’s urban tree canopy in under-resourced communities through tree planting, tree care, and education.
