About the Cause
The REAL LIFE 5K/10K exists to provide a high-quality annual running event while supporting Real Life Community Outreach.
Real Life Community Outreach is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to serving our community with compassion through food assistance, vocational training, and kids camps in low-income neighborhoods.
All proceeds from this event directly support their charitable work.

Join fellow runners on September 12, 2026 for the REAL LIFE 5k/10k 2026. It's a fantastic 10K, 5K featuring a flat and fast course in Selma.

Running
REAL LIFE 10K Run or Walk
NEW FOR 2025: 10k OPTION! The competitive 10k run will begin at 6:20pm and will be chip timed. Please note that all 10k finishers will be eligible for awards. The 10k awards ceremony will be held following the 5k award ceremony, and athletes must be present to collect their awards. We invite you to enjoy our after party while waiting for the awards ceremony! All finishers will receive a Finishers Medal. Please also note this course includes asphalt, loose sand-like clay, and grass turf terrain. For the safety of all participants, the course will close at 8:00pm (2-hour cutoff time). Awards For 10K Competitive Run Overall M&F Winners + Overall M&F Masters Winners 5 Year Age Groups for first 3 M&F Age group awards will be based on chip time Overall winner awards will be based on gun time No duplication of awards
REAL LIFE 5K - Run (Chip-timed)
The 5k run will begin at 6:30pm and will be chip timed. Please note that you must enter the run category in order to be eligible for awards. The awards ceremony will be held at 7:30pm, and athletes must be present to collect their awards. We invite you to enjoy our after party while waiting for the awards ceremony! All finishers will receive a Finishers Medal. Please also note this course includes asphalt, loose sand-like clay, and grass turf terrain. For the safety of all participants, the course will close at 8:00pm (1 hour 30 minutes cutoff time). Awards For 5K Competitive Run Overall M&F Winners + Overall M&F Masters Winners 5 Year Age Groups for first 3 M&F Age group awards will be based on chip time Overall winner awards will be based on gun time No duplication of awards
Walking
REAL LIFE 5K - Fun Walk (not chip-timed)
The Fun Walk starts at 6:35pm, and is not chip-timed. All finishers will receive a Finishers Medal. Please note that Fun Walk participants are not eligible for awards. Please also note this course includes asphalt, loose sand-like clay, and grass turf terrain. For the safety of all participants, the course will close at 8:00pm (1 hour 25 minutes cutoff time).
