Richmond SPCA's Dog Jog, 5K and Block Party
About this race
Join thousands of animal lovers for the 25th Annual Dog Jog, 5K and Block Party, presented by Holiday Barn Pet Resorts and benefiting the Richmond SPCA! Participate in person or select the "run anywhere" option.
On Saturday, March 21, expect a day packed with fun activities for the whole family. The day begins with a chip-timed 5K (3.1 mile) for people only, our free half-mile Kids Fun Run, then a leisurely 1-mile Dog Jog. The event is rain or shine, however our Block Party will have a rain date of Sunday, March 22. All net proceeds aid in our efforts to rescue and rehabilitate homeless animals and to deliver crucial programs to pets and the people who love them.
Your Dog Jog, 5K or Run Anywhere registration includes:
- An event T-shirt (for the first 1,000 registrants)
- A bag full of exciting giveaways from our generous sponsors (for the first 1,000 registrants)
- A numbered race bib (for the 5K)
- GPS tracking, progress alerts and official race timing through the RaceJoy app as you hit milestones along your route (if you choose our Run Anywhere option)

Dog Jog and 5K Run Anywhere
Run, walk or jog with your dog by your side wherever you like! Register before March 1 to save $10 on your registration fee! Starting March 1, prices increase to $45.
Cat Nap (Fundraising Only)
Unable to run or walk in the 5K or Dog Jog? You can still participate as a fundraiser! This registration option does not include a T-shirt or a participant bag; however you can compete for prizes!
5K In-person
Register before March 1 to save $10 on your chip-timed registration fee for adults or children! Starting March 1, prices increase to $50. Online registration will be open until 5 p.m. on March 20, 2026. Day-of registrations will occur on March 21, 2026. Richmond Road Runners Club will conduct our official timing. No dogs are permitted in the 5K.
Dog Jog In-person
Register for a fun 1-mile walk/jog with your dog! Registration is per dog. All dogs must wear ID tags, be on a leash at all times (no flexi/retractable leashes permitted), socialize well with other dogs, be current on rabies vaccinations, be at least six months of age and not be in heat. Please be kind to your canine companion and maintain a leisurely pace. Register before March 1 to save $10 on your registration fee! Starting March 1, prices increase to $50. Online registration will be open until 5 p.m. on March 20, 2026. Day-of onsite registrations will occur on March 21, 2026.
Fun Run for Kids
Registration for a fun half-mile race for kids ages 4-6 and 7-10. Online registration will be open until 5 p.m. March 21, 2025. Day-of onsite registrations will occur on March 21, 2026.
Both Dog Jog and 5K In-person
Register for both events and save $10! The 5K race is for people only. The Dog Jog is a fun 1-mile walk/jog for you and your dog. Register before March 1 to save $20 on your registration fee! Starting March 1, prices increase to $90. Online registration will be open until 5 p.m. on March 20, 2026. Day-of onsite registrations will occur on March 21, 2026. Richmond Road Runners Club will conduct our official timing.
