Pre-Register by Wednesday, July 30th, 2025 to receive this year's shirt and guarantee your shirt size. Limited quantities will be available for registration after 7/30/25, including race day registration.
Description: Please join the Lexington Cross Country team for their 2025-2026 fundraiser: The "River Rat Obstacle 5K" on Saturday, August 16th, 2025 @ 9:00AM! Proceeds will be used for Lexington Cross Country team expenses (out of town meets, gear, etc.). Your participation in fundraising will keep the traditions that we have started with this program strong! Fundraised money has helped the program buy team warm-ups, paid for summer camps for runners, and helped fund out of town and out of state meets for the teams.
Where: The Obstacle 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run will be run on the Battle of Lexington Cross Country Course which is on the Lexington High School campus at 2309 Aull Lane, Lexington, MO. The 5K Obstacle course will have some obstacles throughout the course to include (but not limited to): hay bale hurdles, car tire maze, an inflatable obstacle course, and a slip n' slide finish. The 1 mile fun run/walk will include hay bale hurdles and the slip n' slide finish.
When: The race will be hosted @ 9:00 am on August 16th, 2025. Race Day registration will be from 7:30-8:30 pm. The 5K obstacle race will start at 9:00am and the 1 mile fun run will start at 9:45am
Cost: The "River Rat Obstacle 5K & 1 Mile Fun Run" will cost $30 (pre-register by 7/30/25) OR $35 after 7/30/25 and on race day which includes a race t-shirt (as supplies last on race day). Checks payable to: “Lexington Cross Country”. Please pre-register by Wednesday, July 30th (pre-registered participants will have first priority on shirt sizes). ALL registration will be done through runsignup.com.
The Course: The course is mostly grass with some dirt trails and one bridged crossing. The course is relatively flat with some minor hills. The course MAY get muddy with rain so be prepared. The 5K Obstacle course will have some obstacles throughout the course to include (but not limited to): hay bale hurdles, car tire maze, inflatable obstacle course, and a slip n' slide finish. The 5K course is a 2 loop course so obstacles will be completed twice (approximately 1.5 miles per loop). The 1 mile fun run will include hay bale hurdles and the slip n' slide finish. Reminder: All obstacles are optional and can be skipped if you complete an alternate exercise instead.
Giveaways: ALL participants will receive a race shirt with registration.
Awards: This is a FUN RUN. NO official times or medals will be awarded.
