Saturday, July 11th at 8:30 AM at Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill
The Roots of Mercer 5K & Fun Run brings together runners, families, and local businesses for a day of connection and pride in our community. Hosted at the beautiful Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill, this event celebrates what makes Mercer County so special. Run, Walk, and Fun Run participants will experience the beauty of Kentucky's Bluegrass region while supporting a mission focused on preserving and strengthening our community for future generations. From rolling farmland and equestrian properties to historic sites and wildlife, Roots of Mercer 5K & Fun Run exists to showcase the heart of Mercer County.
In addition to the race, attendees will have the opportunity to explore community vendor booths featuring local small businesses, preservation organizations, community groups, and educational resources that share a passion for celebrating the beauty of Kentucky. All proceeds from this event will support the work of We Are Mercer County, a community organization dedicated to protecting and strengthening our local resources, agriculture, and future.

Join fellow runners on July 11, 2026 for the Roots of Mercer 5K & 1 Mile Fun Run. It's a fantastic 5K, 1.6K, Race Volunteer featuring a flat and fast course in Harrodsburg.

Running
5K Run/Walk
A chip timed 5K (3.1 mile) run/walk through historic Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill. Surface is a mix of paved roadways and packed gravel. Awards presented for top finishers. T-shirt included with registration (while supplies last).
1 Mile Fun Run (Fastest Kid in Town)
A 1-mile fun run for kids 14 and under. Participants can run or walk, and parents are welcomed to join with your little ones. We will award a "Fastest Kid in Town" award to the top finishing child in the race. This race will not be officially timed. T-shirt included with registration (while supplies last).
Race Volunteer
We need 6-8 enthusiastic volunteers to work a 3-hour shift on race day (7-10am) to make our race great. Duties/jobs include packet pickup/check-in, parking, course marshal, water stop, food/drink and awards. Volunteers earn a race tshirt by working a full shift.
