Run for One: End Type 1 Diabetes (Virtual) 5K
About the Event
Support Alivia's Senior Capstone Project!
Join us along with your friends and family in a run/jog/walk/roll where your miles support improving the lives of countless diabetics. Our goal for Run for One is to raise money for the American Diabetes Association (ADA), whose mission is to research, educate, advocate, and support preventing and curing diabetes, as well as improve the lives of all people affected by the disease.
To make this event more accessible to all, the virtual race allows for complete flexibility. Registration for the event closes on April 26th, 2026. Once registration is complete, it is up to you to decide when and where you would like to complete the 5k – whether that’s outside, on a treadmill, solo, or with a group. The race is at your own pace, and the distance can even be split up into multiple days to accommodate your needs. We recommend using apps like Strava or Map My Run to track your race. When you’ve completed the 5k, simply upload your time/results by the end of the day on May 3rd, 2026 (result submissions not required).
Everyone who participates in the event will receive a canvas tote bag, a physical race bib, and a Run for One sticker. Due to the virtual format, items will be mailed after the registration deadline. If anyone would like to further contribute or is unable to participate in the race, there will be additional donation links at various price points.
Please share your race with us! Photo submissions are not required, but are a great way to celebrate your accomplishment with other participants. If posting your photos on Instagram, we encourage you to tag us using @runforone.endt1d or use #RunForOne2026
All proceeds support the American Diabetes Association (ADA) in its fight to end diabetes.
