Lace Up Your Running Shoes and Help Shelter Animals!
Sign up for the first annual Run for the Rescues 5K, a fun event for the entire family to support Lumpkin County Animal Services in Dahlonega. Whether you're a seasoned runner or prefer a leisurely walk, this event welcomes participants of all fitness levels - and their four-legged companions!
Every registration fee and donation directly supports the Lumpkin County Animal Shelter, saving the lives of homeless, abused and abandoned animals in our community.
Your involvement helps provide:
- Life-saving medical treatments
- Spay/neuter services to prevent pet overpopulation
- Daily care, food, shelter, and love for animals awaiting their forever homes
- Community outreach and education programs

Race day check-in begins at 8:00 AM at the Cottrell Elementary School, located at 220 Pinetree way in Dahlonega. Parking is available onsite. Well-behaved, leashed dogs are encouraged! There will be water available for both humans and dogs along the course, and cleanup bags will be available. Medals will be presented for overall winners and age group categories.
