Run for Their Lives 5K
About this race
Join us on June 20th at 9am for a Run & Walk benefitting the homeless pets of NAWS Humane Society.
The event will take place at Hickory Creek Preserve – Laporte Access Road, offering a beautiful natural setting as you run (or walk!) to help save lives.
This race will be timed by Its Race Time where you will receive realtime updates on your timing.
There will be post race food and refreshments available as well as an awards ceremony!
Whether you're a competitive runner, a casual walker, or simply an animal lover who wants to make a difference, this event is for you. Every registration directly supports the medical care, food, shelter, and lifesaving programs that give NAWS pets a second chance.
We kindly ask that you leave your furry friends at home for this event due to permitting issues!

Virtual 5K Run/Walk
Drive up t-shirt & packet pick up is available Friday May 27th from 2-6pm at the Humane Society of Marathon County (HSMC). Please Note: picking up t-shirts after Friday May 27th will be limited to the normal business hours of HSMC. *Packages will be sent Friday May 27th to those participants that choose the mailing option Run/Walk anywhere & anytime that works for you prior to Saturday June 4th! To be eligible for a medal, upload your time and route by 11:59pm on Friday June 3rd.
In-Person 5K Run/Walk
Drive up t-shirt & packet pick up is available Friday June 3rd from 2-6pm at Immanuel Baptist Church (East parking lot) Walk up t-shirt & packet pick up will be available at Immanuel Baptist Church (East parking lot) race day from 7-9am. If registered by May 25th participants may choose to have their t-shirts & packets mailed to them. Run for Their Lives 2021 (in-person) COVID protocols Participants have the option to participate Virtually or In-Person June 4th In-person participants can easily transfer to the virtual option through May 25th The In-person event is held entirely outdoors Mask wearing will be required when social distancing is not possible Porta potties will be placed with social distancing in mind Additional signage & sanitation supplies will be on hand discouraging the spread of germs Social distant starting line: To avoid a large group, participants are asked to cross the (chip-timed) starting line at their convenience between 8:30-9:00am. Any refreshments provided will be prepackaged Social distant results: To avoid large groups at the results board, participants can scan a QR code and receive results live electronically
