San Clemente Ocean Festival
About the Event
San Clemente Ocean Festival is a volunteer organization, dedicated to the promotion and support of ocean safety, the environment and the community by providing a quality athletic venue and enjoyable family event. The San Clemente Ocean Festival utilizes a a "One Fee - All Events Entry". Participants pay one fee and are entitled to enter any of the events listed for that entry. Entry includes commemorative SCOF tee, SCOF swim cap and competitors kit.
Saturday July 18
International Lifeguard Competition (All Events) - includes Surf Race, Rescue Relay, Surf Ski Race, International Ironman, NDA Dory Races #1 & #2, Paddleboard Rescue Relay, Paddleboard Sprint, Landline Rescue Relay.
Junior Lifeguard Competition (All Events) - includes Beach Flags, Surf Race, Run-Swim-Run, Paddleboard Race
Separate Saturday entry events:
Dolphin Dash (kid's running race)
Pier Bowl Surf Classic (open & age-group surfing event)
Sunday July 19
Beach Events (All Events) - includes 5K Beach Run, Biathlon (Swim 1K, Run 5K), Open Ocean Paddle, One Mile Ocean Swim, Run-Swim-Run, SUP Sprint, Splash & Dash Relay

Grom's Rule Surf Contest (kid's age-group surf event including 7 & under "Push-in Division)
Join fellow runners on July 18, 2026 for the San Clemente Ocean Festival. It's a fantastic 5K, 1.6K featuring a flat and fast course in San Clemente.

All Inclusive (Sunday) Beach Events - 5K Beach Run, Biathlon, One Mile Ocean Swim, Run-Swim-Run, Paddle Events, Splash & Dash Relay
Ocean Swims, Paddling, Runs - Beach Events *Entry fee entitles entrant to participate in all Ocean Swims, Paddling and Run events on Sunday July 19 and includes SCOF tee. *SCOF medals awarded to top three (3) finishers in each age-group and craft category (paddling events). 8:00am 5K Beach Run 9:00am Biathlon (1k swim, 5k run) 9:15am Open Ocean Paddle (approx. 5.5 miles - SUP, prone, surf ski) 11:30am One Mile Ocean Swim 2:15pm Run-Swim-Run (approx. 200 yard run, 300 yard swim, 200 yard run) 3:00pm SUP Surf Sprint (approx. 800 yards - 14' & under) 3:30pm Splash & Dash Relay (2 person - runner 100 yards, swimmer 200 yards)

5K Beach Run *Course is run on sand along waters edge. *Race start: 8:00am *Special SCOF medals 1st-3rd in each age-group division
Swimming
One Mile Ocean Swim - Sunday
One Mile Ocean Swim *Course is through the surfline with multiple laps around the buoys. Finish on sand. *Race start: 11:30am *Special SCOF medals 1st-3rd in each age-group division
