Save our Planet - Recycle 5K
About this race
Get ready to run for a greener future at the Save Our Planet - Recycle 5K Fort Lauderdale, taking place on Sunday, June 14, 2026, at the beautiful T.Y. Park. What sets this race apart from any other 5K is its creative, zero-waste approach to race day swag, which intentionally keeps costs exceptionally low for participants. In a passionate effort to do our part for the environment and ensure no unused items end up in local landfills, this event breathes new life into high-quality gear from past races.
The sustainable surprises begin right at registration, where participants will get to choose a "mystery" leftover race shirt from a previous event. The eco-friendly fun continues all the way to the finish line—once you cross, you will get to hand-pick your favorite finisher medal from a curated collection of past events. It is a brilliant, practical way to give great gear a second life, eliminate manufacturing waste, and pass the massive financial savings directly down to the runners.
While the event heavily focuses on sustainability, it doesn't skimp on the competitive race day experience. The 5K will be professionally chip-timed by Victory Sports Management to guarantee accurate, real-time results, with awards proudly presented to the top three overall finishers as well as individual age groups. After you crush your 3.1 miles, the finish line turns into a full-blown eco-celebration filled with high-energy dancing, great music, and unforgettable community spirit.
