About this race
Join us for a scenic 5k run or walk at the beautiful Detroit Riverwalk! Our 5th annual Set the PACE 5K supports PACE Southeast Michigan's mission to help older adults live safely and independently in their homes and communities. Your participation will make a meaningful difference in the lives of seniors in Southeast Michigan. Don't miss out on this opportunity to enjoy the outdoors while supporting a great cause!
What does my 5K packet include?
All participants who registered by Friday, Oct 9, 2026, will receive a t-shirt and a race bib. Participants will also receive a medal at the finish line. Virtual participants will receive a medal in their race packet. T-shirts cannot be guaranteed if registered after Oct 9, 2026.
Race Details
- This is a timed, out-and-back 5K course on the riverwalk that runs through Milliken State Park.
- One water station will be provided on the course at the turnaround at approximately the 1-mile mark
- Although we love our furry friends at PACE Southeast Michigan, we ask that you please leave your personal pets/dogs at home for the safety and comfort of our runners and volunteers.
- This event is non-refundable and will occur rain or shine.
Awards
Awards will be provided to the first three male and female finishers, and to runners in each of the following age groups:
- 15 and under
- 16 - 30
- 31 - 45
- 46 - 60
- 61 and up

Set the PACE 5K RUN - SOLD OUT
The in-person race will take place at Stony Creek Metro Park, located at 4300 Main Park Dr., Shelby Township, MI 48316. The race will start and finish at Eastwood Beach. A Huron Metro Park pass is required for entry to Stony Creek Metro Park. If you do not have a Huron Metro Park pass, you can purchase a day pass for $10 at the entry gate the day of the race. If registering before May 10, 2023, you will receive a t-shirt, bib, and medal. If registering after May 10, t-shirts are not guaranteed. **Non Refundable
Set the PACE 5K VIRTUAL RUN/WALK (June 2-4) - SOLD OUT
A virtual 5K is a race that can be completed from any location you choose. You can run, jog, roll, bike, or walk on the road, on the trail, on the treadmill, at the gym, or on the track (or even at another race). You get to run your own race, at your own pace, and time it yourself. So, meet up with some friends, get outside, take a stroll with your dog – whatever your heart desires because YOU set the PACE in this race! Just complete your 5K (3.1 miles) between the race dates of Friday, June 2 and Sunday, June 4, 2023. It’s an “honor system” event, so you only need to keep track of your time if you wish to! If registering before May 10, 2023, you will receive a t-shirt, bib, and medal. If registering after May 10, t-shirts are not guaranteed. We encourage you to wear your “Set the PACE 5K” t-shirt and bib during your race and when you’re done, proudly add the medal! When posting about your race on social media, please use the hashtag #SetThePACE5K and tag PACE Southeast Michigan. **Non Refundable
