About this race
A great morning event with something for everyone! Chip-timed 5K with awards suitable for all ages and all levels. And a great post-race celebration. The race starts at 9 am.
Your 5K race swag includes:
- Custom Shoot for the Stars finisher medal for the 5K finishers!
- Custom Short-Sleeve Race Shirt. (Subject to availability, style and color may change)
Shirt deadline: End of January. After this time, shirts or sizes are not guaranteed and will be limited to what is available to choose on RunSignUp.
Advance Packet Pickup: Taylor Ranch Elementary School (2500 Taylor Ranch Trail, Venice, FL 34293) on the Thursday before the race, 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. If you cannot attend, you will be able to pick up your race packet between 8 am and 8:30 am on race day.
***Upon completion of the run any shirts not picked up will be available to trade***
No medals will be saved post race. If packets /shirts/medals are not picked up you will be forfeiting them.

Our Cause: Taylor Ranch School has a long-standing history of community service and giving back to our Venice community. This year's event will help set our current and former students up for success.
- We are funding senior scholarships for former TRS Trailblazers who have continued their commitment to community throughout high school.
- Our main fundraising goal is to secure two interventionists for the 2026-2027 school year. Interventionists work directly with students to reach grade-level mastery in both reading and math. Their expertise and time is of great benefit to our teachers and students!

Join fellow runners on February 27, 2027 for the Shoot for the Stars 5k. It's a fantastic 5K featuring a flat and fast course in Venice.

Running
5k Run/Walk
A chip timed 5K race suitable for the entire family! Run, walk or trot the 3.1 miles around the nature-rich TRS campus and surrounding area with lots of support from TRS race staff and volunteers. Your registration includes the custom race shirt and ALL 5K finishers will get a custom finishers medal. Awards for the first male & female overall, overall elementary student (ages 5-11), masters, grandmasters, senior grandmasters and veteran grandmasters and 3-deep in age groups 6 & under, 7 to 9, 10 to 11, 12 to14, then 5-year age groups 15 to 19 up to 80 & over.
Virtual 5k Run/Walk
Even if you can't be with us in person, we still want you to be a part of the Shoot for the Stars 5k, you can do your 5K virtually. Pick the time that fits your schedule during the Virtual 5K window, your choice of course, and you have the opportunity to log your results on RunSignUp for bragging rights. Your Virtual Shoot for the Stars 5k registration fee includes shipping your race shirt and finisher medal to the US address provided during registration. Or if you'd like to pick up your race swag at the advance packet pick up, let us know and the money saved on shipping will be put to good use at the school.
