Skylar's Run - Clean Water 5K
About this race
Every day in East Africa, women and children walk an average of 5 kilometers to retrieve water for their families that is often unclean and unsafe for human use. Skylar's Run - Clean Water 5K event is focused on bringing awareness that Safe, Clean Water IS a solvable problem. Race headliner, Skylar Gwin, and his father, Paul, will be leading the wheelchair & stroller accessible "Walk & Roll" event as a testimony to the fact that EVERYONE can be part of the clean water solution, no matter their age or abilities.
All funds raised through this event are used to provide sustainable water filters for vulnerable families in Kenya. This designation most often applies to those with limited means who have young children, elderly, physically disabled, or chronically ill family members. These populations are most susceptible to water-born illnesses.
This event is a 5K Run/Walk or 1/2 Mile Walk & Roll event for the WHOLE FAMILY!! Come join the FUN as we raise money for SAFE, CLEAN WATER!
Race Details:- Sign-in at park will begin at 7:00 am
- Events will begin at approximately 8:00 am (with staggered start times by event)
- Registration includes t-shirt for participant, raffle ticket and post race drinks & snacks
- "Walk & Roll" event is held on an accessible, paved, 1/2 mile loop.
- Registration for the "Walk & Roll" includes a free 'buddy' for the primary participant, no extra registration fee is needed. Race t-shirt for the 'buddy' is an optional purchase during checkout.
NEW FOR 2026:
- Revised race course will feature two 'out and back' sections that will eliminate the steep hill on the East Meadow loop!
- Race t-shirts in requested size will not be guaranteed if sign up occurs after September 10, 2026.
- Family Registration option-- register up to 4 family members for $100 total!
- Group Registration option-- register a team and fundraise together for Safe, Clean Water!

Skylar's Run - Clean Water 5K is for adults AND children! Bring the whole family!! Run or walk-- all are welcome. This event will be timed with medals awarded to top finishers in each gender/age category.
Skylar's Run - Clean Water 5K - Virtual Runner
Can't be in Auburn for this year's race? Support Skylar's Run-Clean Water 5K with your registration as a Virtual Runner. All proceeds will go to support the Clean Water Program in Kenya. Registration includes shipping fee for race t-shirt that will be mailed after the event.
Wheelchair
Skylar's Run - Clean Water 1/2 Mile "Walk & Roll"
Participation in this division, led by race leader, Skylar Gwin, and his father, Paul, is a statement that we can ALL do something to help find a solution to the clean water crisis! This route is paved and wheelchair/stroller accessible. It is open to participants of all abilities and will not be timed. The registration fee is for one Primary Race Participant AND one Race Buddy, if the Participant needs help on the race route. Race Registration includes one T-shirt for the Primary Race Participant-- an additional shirt for a Race Buddy may be purchased separately during the registration process..
Walking
Skylar's Run - Clean Water 1/2 Mile "Water Carry"
This "water carry" event involves carrying a water filled bucket on a 1/2 mile course to simulate and bring awareness to the long, daily walk for water that is a reality for so many women and children in East Africa. Water and bucket will be provided at the event. This event is not timed, and participation medals will be given at completion.
