Honoring the Life of Eagle Scout George McWilliams
Join us for the Slay The Dragon 5K Memorial Trail Run, a special event celebrating the life and legacy of Eagle Scout George McWilliams. Runners and walkers of all ages are invited to take part in this meaningful and uplifting trail race.
When: Sunday, April 18, 2027 — 10:30 AM
Where: Scouting America’s Camp Manatoc
1075 Truxell Road, Peninsula, Ohio
Set within the beautiful wooded trails of Camp Manatoc, the race offers participants a fun and scenic 5K adventure through forests, hills, and camp trails.
George was known for his adventurous spirit, kindness, and love of the outdoors. This event honors his memory while supporting a cause close to his heart. All proceeds from the race will be donated in George’s memory to Camp Manatoc to help provide financial assistance for campers who may otherwise be unable to attend.
🎽 Registration Swag: All participants will receive a custom Slay The Dragon beanie-style hat, a tribute to George—who was rarely seen without his favorite beanie, even while running.
Whether you run, walk, or simply want to support a great cause, come help us celebrate George’s life and help more young people experience the adventure of camp.
