SMG 5K Race & 1 Mile Run
About the Event
The St. Mary of Gostyn Annual 5K Race and 1 Mile Run is open to all ages. There is also a 5K non-competitive (no timing) Walk available. All events begin and end on the streets around the St. Mary of Gostyn Parish campus. Check-in and packet pick up begins on Friday, August 22nd, from 2:00-6:00 and again the morning of the race at 7:00 am in the St. Mary's parking lot at 445 Prairie Avenue.
We will award medals for several age groups for the 5K Race and the 1 Mile Race. There are no awards for the non-competitive 5K Walk. Adults are $35 for the 5K Race and 5K Walk. Students 14 and under are $20 for either the 5K or the 1 Mile Run, but can only choose one race in which to participate. All participants get a race shirt if registered by 8/15.
Join fellow runners on August 22, 2026 for the SMG 5K Race & 1 Mile Run. It's a fantastic 5K, 1.6K featuring a flat and fast course in Downers Grove.
Races Offered
Running
St. Mary of Gostyn 5K Race
All ages are eligible to run in this race. Students 14 and under can register to run either race, but may only run one race, and must specify at registration which race they are running. $35 for adults, $20 for students 14 and under.
St. Mary of Gostyn 1 Mile Run
Ages up to 14 years old only. This race will be timed, and all racers will receive a participation medal. 1st, 2nd and 3rd place will be acknowledged at the awards distribution at the end of the event.
Walking
5K Walk (no timing)
Open to all ages. This is a non-timed event.
