25K

The 25K course follows the first 4K of the 10K route, but when the 10K turns back, this route heads uphill to the base of the basalt cliffs that Riverside State Park is known for. After climbing the cliffs, the course turns east near an equestrian area and meanders through rolling hills and pine forest before climbing up to a bluff overlooking the Spokane River. You’ll then turn back, dropping down to the river and enjoying great views all the way back to the finish line.

25K Challenge

A more difficult 25K, this course is long and difficult! Runners must be able to meet 15 minutes/mile pace. Features significant elevation gain, several technical sections, and a major climb at 16K. Most of the route is single track but is broken up frequently in the first 10k by sections of double track. The route winds through some of the less-traveled areas of Riverside State Park, passing through a basalt basin dubbed “Craters of the Moon” and climbing from the river at Deep Creek up to the best view on any of our courses. The final 5-6K are a fast downhill finish.

50K

For only the most adventurous, the 50K course combines the 25K and 25K Challenge courses into one beast of a trail run! Runners begin with the 25K Challenge course, facing significant elevation gain from the river all the way to the highest bluff in the park, before descending back to the start/finish area and continuing on the regular 25K course. Runners may leave a drop bag at the designated area near the start/finish site. This also serves as the mid-point of the race, so drop bags can be accessed at 25k if needed.
