Virtual One Mile Swim the Fish

How does the virtual event work? Simple! STEP ONE: Register for the Virtual One Mile Swim the Fish STEP TWO: Anytime between registering and midnight on August 13th, swim a 1 mile open water or pool (1750 yards or 1500 meters) swim using your garmin, smartwatch, or other GPS enabled device, or stopwatch with a coach! STEP THREE: To self-report your virtual swim - Submit your time to Carrie Jacobs by emailing carriemjacobs@gmail.com with the following information: name, age, open water (1 mile) or pool (1750 yards / 1500 meters) category, time for the mile swim, and what you used to track your swim (garmin, IWatch, etc.) STEP FOUR: A few days after August 13th you will receive results so you can compare your time with other folks around the country competing in the virtual category AND you'll receive an official Swim the Fish t-shirt! PLEASE NOTE: - Results can be sent to the race director anytime before August 14th, 2022 @ carriemjacobs@gmail.com; - Results ARE NOT required to receive your official Swim the Fish t-shirt; - Reported times will NOT BE VALIDATED; - Reported times will be used to create UNOFFICIAL race results. The Virtual One mile Swim the Fish is just that - a virtual swim. As such there is not the support, volunteers, and support systems that come with the organized open water swim on August 13th in Whitefish. This means all swimmers must be responsible for their own safety. Always swim with a buddy or some sort of safety support (lifeguard on shore or on deck/someone in a boat next to you/etc.), swim within your limits, make sure you know the conditions before starting your swim (water temp, waves, currents, etc.), and leave no trace - promote the sustainable use of our open water and pick up any litter you find in the water or near the waters edge. We strongly encourage swimmers to use a swim buoy for both visibility and safety purposes. Thank you for supporting the Wave Aquatic and Fitness center from afar!
