About the Event
Welcome to the first ever Taco The Town 5K & 10K! 🌮
Do you like tacos? We do too! We’ve wondered why all races don’t have tacos at the finish line… so we created a run just to put them there! Every finisher will receive ONE FREE TACO from each truck at the event. That’s FIVE FREE TACOS!
I mean, does ANYONE NOT like tacos?
In addition to tacos, we are happy to mention that some of our local breweries will be present to give out beer samples to all of our finishers as well! Because we all know that tacos go great with a good beer. 🍺
Why?
Well to be honest, I feel like there aren’t enough 5Ks and 10Ks offered in our city. Most runners I know head to the bay or Sacramento to do those events… but that does nothing for OUR city. So introducing, the Taco The Town 5K & 10K event! The only run/walk where there’s tacos at the finish line.
I’ve partnered with local breweries and taco trucks like Tacos la Palmita to bring you FREE TACOS AND BEER for anyone that completes their 5K or 10K!
This will be an in person event with a closed course taking place in North Stockton. The event will also have timing chips built-in for those avid runners that wish to see their times. The event will be offered virtually as well for those that wish to run it on their own schedule.
Join fellow runners on September 5, 2026 for the Taco The Town 5K & 10K. It's a fantastic 5K, 10K featuring a flat and fast course in Stockton.

5K
When you walk or run this event, you will complete a total of 3.1 miles! Upon completion, you will be awarded your 3" medal and earn that free taco from our event trucks and well as beer from local breweries. What all do you get when you sign up? – a finisher medal – a shirt – a souvenir beer tasting glass – FREE tacos – FREE beer A portion of the proceeds go to Family Promise of San Joaquin to help combat the homelessness here in Stockton.
10K
When you walk or run this event, you will complete a total of 6.2 miles! Upon completion, you will be awarded your special 4" 10K finisher medal and earn that free taco from our event trucks and well as beer from local breweries. What all do you get when you sign up? – a finisher medal – a shirt – a souvenir beer tasting glass – FREE tacos – FREE beer A portion of the proceeds go to Family Promise of San Joaquin to help combat the homelessness here in Stockton. Whether you’re an avid runner looking for another timed event or someone who wants to get out the house and see something, this is the course for you!
Virtual 5K
When you walk or run this event, you will complete a total of 3.1 miles! We encourage you to use a tracker such as an FitBit, Garmin, or Apple Watch to keep track. Your medal will be sent to you ahead of time, so it is up to your integrity to complete the 5K on your own. We ask that you take pictures and share it with us on Instagram!
Virtual 10K

Taquito 5K (12 and under)
This event is for any young participants who wish to participate and enjoy the tacos of their hard work! This will be a 5K and can be walked or run by any participant age 12 and under by the start of the event. Participants will NOT receive a medal and shirt, but will receive a bib and access to the FREE TACOS.
