5K Run/Walk

This is a race to benefit Talk 2 Me - A Program of Hope and Sharewaves Our Mission Statement : A Program of Hope Empowering Young People Peers to Connect, Heal, and Thrive. This year the Talk 2 Me 3rd Annual 5K Run/Walk is renamed as: Movement is the Medicine as we work in partnership with Sharewaves to Promote mental health, physical health, and suicide prevention across our communities. We are relentlessly striving to bring a message of HOPE to all in our community who are especially suffering from the physical and mental toll of the COVID Pandemic. We are hosting our third Annual 5K Run/Walk to raise awareness and funding of our education, accountability, and action plan program. We are committed to help our youth thrive by giving them connectedness and concrete tools and solutions to use in times of difficulty.  Our program will teach about underlying illness. It will include personal testimony of those that are thriving after addressing their difficulties. We will introduce a system of accountability for other students where community service hours can be earned. We will provide cards for students to list safe people to call in times of need. These will be kept with them at all times as well as Crisis line numbers and crisis text numbers. Ultimately young people will take personal responsibility for their own safety and committed to it. Peers will learn how to reach out to other students and simply share their feelings. Our goal is that each and every young person will be energized by our accountability and action plan in order to fully thrive.  Come out and enjoy this lovely course on what we hope will be a beautiful day.
