TEAM NEPAL – APTRC 2026 FUNDRAISING 5K

Run 5K. Support the Journey. Represent Nepal. 🇳🇵

If you are in Cincinnati or the surrounding area, we invite you to join us in person at French Park for this special 5K fundraising run alongside ATR's Haunted Trail Run on October 31st, 2026. If you can not join this event, you are welcome to finish your support run/walk/jog any time before the race day, from wherever you are.

If you are unable to attend in person, you can still participate from anywhere in the world. Complete your 5K by running, walking, or jogging at your own pace and in your own location while supporting an important cause.

100% of the registration proceeds will support eight Nepali trail-running athletes—four women and four men—who have earned the opportunity to represent Nepal at APTRC 2026 in China. You will receive the official 5K Finisher Medal for your support.

Want to contribute more? Buy the ATR Halloween "Haunted Trail Run" T-shirt. 30% of this purchase will be donated to the cause as well.

For participants outside the Cincinnati area who are receiving the official 5K Finisher Medal, the applicable shipping cost will be deducted from the registration proceeds before the remaining amount is contributed to the fundraising campaign.

We are proud to announce that eight talented Nepali trail-running athletes have been given the opportunity to represent Nepal at the Asia Pacific Trail Running Championships (APTRC) 2026 in China.

Competing at APTRC 2026 represents much more than participating in another race. It gives these athletes the opportunity to compete on an international stage, gain valuable championship experience, proudly represent Nepal, and increase the visibility of Nepal’s growing trail-running community throughout Asia and beyond.

I was fortunate and honored to accompany six Nepali athletes to the inaugural APTRC in South Korea in 2024. Team Nepal delivered an outstanding performance.

Priya Rai finished 2nd in the 40KM, while Man Kumar Roka Magar finished 5th in the 80KM. Tirtha Tamang, Gopal Tamang, Tilak Sunuwar, and Rashila Tamang also performed extremely well, helping Nepal make a strong impression at the first-ever Asian Trail Running Championship.

Now, a new group of athletes has the opportunity to continue that journey.

It is their turn to carry Nepal’s name on their backs, compete alongside some of the strongest trail runners in Asia, and demonstrate the remarkable talent, endurance, and potential that exists within Nepal’s trail-running community.

Why We Are Fundraising

To help make this opportunity possible, we are organizing an In-Person and Virtual 5K Fundraising Run in support of the eight athletes traveling to China for APTRC 2026. Our goal is to raise $7000 US dollars.

Funds raised through this campaign will help cover essential travel-related expenses, including:

• Round-trip airfare to and from China
• Visa application and processing expenses
• Local transportation while in China
• Nutrition Support While in China

Our goal is to reduce the financial burden placed on these athletes so they can concentrate on what matters most: preparing for the championship, competing at their highest level, and representing Nepal with pride.
