5K Run
The 5K Run attracts more than 1,500 runners and walkers of all ages and abilities. The race starts and finishes on Sunset Lane, near the entrance to the track. The 5K Run begins at 9:00 sharp. The 5K Run features an Elite Runner Start, which allows under-21:00 5K runners to start at the front of the pack. For everyone’s safety and as a courtesy to faster runners, slower runners and walkers are asked to start towards the back of the pack. The 5K course has water stations at each kilometer and clocks at each mile. Awards are given based on clock time only. 5K Dog Walk
The 5K Dog Walk starts at 9:05, after the 5K runners are on their way. It starts on Sunset Lane and follows the same course as the 5K Run. The course has water stations at each kilometer, which provide water for both humans and dogs. For everyone's safety, no extended or hands-free leashes are permitted. Awards are given to the top 3 male and female dog runners, based on clock time only.
1-Mile Fun Run
The Kaplen JCC on the Palisades 1-Mile Fun Run begins at 10:30 outside the gym at Tenafly Middle School. The Fun Run is led by the Tenafly High School track team and is open to all ages. All participants receive a medal. The course includes two water stations. A course map is available at www.tenafly5k.com.
