Get ready to lace up, light up, and trot into the holidays with us at the 3rd Annual Active Texan Tinsel Trot—a festive evening 5K, 10K, and 1-mile family fun run at beautiful Lake Walk in Bryan-College Station!
Bring your friends, your family, your running club, or your coworkers—this is more than just a race; it's a community celebration to close out the year Active Texan-style.
As the sun sets, the Lake Walk Pavilion will transform into a glowing holiday party complete with:

🍔 Food trucks & hot chocolate
🎯 Festive games & selfie stations
✨ Post-race celebration on the Green
Race Details
Date: Saturday, December 5, 2026
Time:
• 4:30 PM – 1-Mile Kids/Family Fun Run
• 5:00 PM – 10K Start
• 5:05 PM – 5K Start
Location: Lake Walk Pavilion, Bryan, TX
Events: 10K • 5K • 1-Mile Kids/Family Fun Run
Timing: Professionally chip-timed races for the 5K and 10K.
All participants will receive a finisher medal, t shirt and sponsor swag
🏆 Awards for the Top 3 Overall Male & Female Finishers in both the 5K and 10K divisions.
A Few Tips
Headlamps are recommended for 10K runners, as portions of the course will take place after dark.
The route is well-lit by streetlights, and we'll keep things merry and bright with glow sticks and bracelets for all participants.
🎅 Costumes and holiday spirit are highly encouraged!

Join fellow runners on December 20, 2025 for the The Active Texan Tinsel Trot. It's a fantastic 5K, 10K, 1.6K featuring a flat and fast course in Bryan.
Pick your distance
Running
5K Run
Each participant will receive a finisher medal. There will be awards for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place overall male and female. Some participants will finish the race in the dark. We will have glow sticks for participants to wear as well as glow sticks on the race course.
10K run
Each participant will receive a finisher medal. There will be awards for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place overall male and female. All 10k participants must have a headlamp or some sort of light with them at the start of the race as it will be dark when they finish. We will also have glow sticks for participants to wear as well as glow sticks on the race course. It will be dark at the finish, however the course is well lit for a majority of it by the street lights.
1 Mile Fun Run
There will be NO t-shirt provided however finisher medals will be given to all fun run finishers. Glow sticks will be available for participants to wear on course, however the fun run will be finished before it gets dark.
