Angry Chicken Race Series (all eight races)
Tuesday Night races in Lowell, Massachusetts are back from June 11th through August 13th, 2024, starting at 7 pm! Race distance is 2.62 miles – a tenth of a marathon! – with runners going counter-clockwise (against traffic) on the loop portion of the course. The races begin and end at the S-curve at the entrance to the Riverwalk (at the end of River Place road). Bib pick-up is on Tuesdays from 6:00 to 6:45PM at Marx Running and Fitness, 118 Merrimack Street in downtown Lowell. Themes are: 6/11/2024: Flamingos Flock to the Riverwalk 6/18/2024: Representation Night 6/25/2024: Disney Dash! 7/2/2024: NO RACE 7/9/2024: Superheroes & Supervillians 7/16/2024: '80's Night 7/23/2024: Christmas in July 7/30/2024: NO RACE 8/6/2024: Star Wars 8/13/2024: Neon Night *There will be a small prize after each race for best costume* Donations benefit Catie's Closet at www.catiescloset.org.
Flamingos Flock to the Riverwalk (Race 1)
Calling all flamingos to get your pink on and flock to the Lowell Riverwalk for Race 1 of the Angry Chicken Race Series! Race distance is 2.62 miles – a tenth of a marathon! – with runners going counter-clockwise (against traffic) on the loop portion of the course. The races begin and end at the S-curve at the entrance to the Riverwalk (at the end of River Place road). Bib pick-up is on from 6:00 to 6:45PM at Marx Running and Fitness, 118 Merrimack Street in downtown Lowell. See you there!
Representation Night (Race 2)
We're celebrating our ethnic & gender diversity on Representation Night! Race distance is 2.62 miles – a tenth of a marathon! – with runners going counter-clockwise (against traffic) on the loop portion of the course. The races begin and end at the S-curve at the entrance to the Riverwalk (at the end of River Place road). Bib pick-up is on Tuesdays from 6:00 to 6:45PM at Marx Running and Fitness, 118 Merrimack Street in downtown Lowell.
Disney Dash (Race 3)
Dress as your favorite Disney character as we dash 2.62 miles! Runners go counter-clockwise (against traffic) on the loop portion of the course. The races begin and end at the S-curve at the entrance to the Riverwalk (at the end of River Place road). Superhero Sprint (Race 4)
Grab your cape and help save the world for race 4! Race distance is 2.62 miles – a tenth of a marathon! – with runners going counter-clockwise (against traffic) on the loop portion of the course. The races begin and end at the S-curve at the entrance to the Riverwalk (at the end of River Place road). Bib pick-up is on Tuesdays from 6:00 to 6:45PM at Marx Running and Fitness, 118 Merrimack Street in downtown Lowell.
80's Night (Race 5)
Dial back the clock to the 1980's as we race 2.62 miles – a tenth of a marathon! – going counter-clockwise (against traffic) on the loop portion of the course. The races begin and end at the S-curve at the entrance to the Riverwalk (at the end of River Place road), with an early start at 6:45 pm. Bib pick-up is on Tuesdays from 6:00 to 6:45PM at Marx Running and Fitness, 118 Merrimack Street in downtown Lowell. Happy Running!
Christmas in July (Race 6)

Neon Night (Race 8) (Non-scoring)
Wear your brightest colors for Neon Night; race 8 of the Angry Chicken Series! For our final race of 2024, we're also collecting donations for Catie's Closet. Full-size toiletries and youth/teen clothing are greatly appreciated! Race distance is 2.62 miles – a tenth of a marathon! – with runners going counter-clockwise (against traffic) on the loop portion of the course.
