The Angry Chicken Race Series
About this race
It's not summer without the Angry Chicken Race Series!
Race distance is 2.62 miles – a tenth of a marathon! – with runners going counter-clockwise (against traffic) on the loop portion of the course.
The races are run each Tuesday evening starting at 7PM (early start at 6:50), from June 9th to August 11th (eight races). Scoring will give 1000 points to the race winner, and everyone else a percentage of that based on their finish time. All eight races will be scored, with prizes to the winners given out after Race 8 on August 11th. A minimum of three races must be run to win.

Each race will have a theme. with a small prize for the best costume! To help choose the themes, join our Facebook group at https://www.facebook.com/share/g/18Y89kXYGL/. We'll be voting in May.
Note: there will be no race June 30th or July 28th.
The races begin and end at the S-curve at the entrance to the Riverwalk (at the end of River Place road).
Bib pick-up is on Tuesdays from 6:00 to 6:45 PM at Marx Running and Fitness, 118 Merrimack Street in downtown Lowell.
Cost is $10 per race when registering online (below) – $70 if you register for the whole series. You can register online at bib pick-up (QR scan code will be provided at Marx) for the same $10 price. However, it’s $12 per race to register manually in-person using cash or check.
Donations benefit Catie's Closet. Catie’s Closet is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provides clothes, toiletries, and other basic essentials to students living in poverty right with thin their schools. Free stores are set up in schools, giving children direct access to everything they need to attend class confidently. https://www.catiescloset.org For the final race on August 11th, we'll be collecting new and gently used youth/teen clothing, and full-sized toiletries.

Flamingos Flock to the Riverwalk (Race 1)
Calling all flamingos to get your pink on and flock to the Lowell Riverwalk for Race 1 of the Angry Chicken Race Series! Race distance is 2.62 miles – a tenth of a marathon! – with runners going counter-clockwise (against traffic) on the loop portion of the course. Representation Night (Race 2)
We're celebrating our ethnic & gender diversity on Representation Night! Disney Dash (Race 3)
Dress as your favorite Disney character as we dash 2.62 miles! Runners go counter-clockwise (against traffic) on the loop portion of the course. Superhero Sprint (Race 4)
Grab your cape and help save the world for race 4! Race distance is 2.62 miles – a tenth of a marathon! – with runners going counter-clockwise (against traffic) on the loop portion of the course. 80's Night (Race 5)
Dial back the clock to the 1980's as we race 2.62 miles – a tenth of a marathon! – going counter-clockwise (against traffic) on the loop portion of the course. The races begin and end at the S-curve at the entrance to the Riverwalk (at the end of River Place road), with an early start at 6:45 pm. Wear your brightest colors for Neon Night; race 8 of the Angry Chicken Series! For our final race of 2024, we're also collecting donations for Catie's Closet.
