The Embodied Practice - Fall Session I
About this race
Two ways to explore the same practice: Both Gentle and Flow will share the same theme, breath practice, and physiological focus—but will explore them with different pacing and levels of activation.
GENTLE | Space to Sense | 5- 6:15 p.m. Thursdays
Fewer postures, slower transitions, and no repeated chaturanga/cardio sequence create more spaciousness to sense, explore mobility, build strength, and notice the subtleties of our experience. Gentle doesn't mean no challenge. We'll still play (emphasis on play!) with engagement, balance, and progression—because nervous-system flexibility isn't about avoiding activation. We simply give ourselves more space around it.
FLOW | Capacity in Motion | 6:30 - 7:45 p.m. Thursdays
Flow brings more movement, transitions, cardiovascular engagement, and progressive builds—with opportunities to explore strength, balance, and more complex expressions of poses. But the invitation is never simply to achieve the "advanced" pose. It's to notice: Can I stay connected to myself while I'm doing more?
Both practices will continue to include optional hands-on assists, as well as our end-of-practice ritual many of you already know: savasana with optional hands-on occipital release (with or without essential oils) and end of the series hot towel ritual (now more often with our slightly shorter series!).
Because effort isn't the destination. Receiving is part of the practice, too.
And then... we come Full Circle. After five weeks of practice, our Gentle and Flow communities will have the opportunity to come together for FULL CIRCLE—a special closing experience designed not to teach us one more thing, but to create space for what we've already explored to settle. I'm envisioning an extended sound healing, followed by the option to stay after for reflection and optional sharing, simple snacks and drinks, conversation (think questions we haven't previously had time to explore), and time to simply... be together. A collective exhale at the end of our six weeks.
